Hugs Pollybear, I am sorry to hear about your uncle. It doesn't matter how old someone is, it is still a shock and very sad indeed.

Must dash DH home for lunch and I have done no flying yet.

  • OK I couldn't wait to start til monday to join in with this thread! Have I understood correctly that I cut and paste the list from the first post and then mark on it what I have achieved? If so here I go!

Friday Flyday- those frightening kids rooms and spare rooms
    Level One
Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself!!!!! paint your nails, make an appointment to have your hair done, a lovely soak in the bath.. whatever you feel like!! I'm having my nails done this morning thank goodness!!! lol
    Level Two
    Vacuum the floor
Dusting.. all those shelves and flat fluffy surfaces!! Don’t forget the light shade and curtain pole!!!
Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattresses!! and replace with fresh linen .. check if duvets need freshening up too!! Wash the curtains!
    Level Three
    Clean 2 windows
    Sort through a toy box/cupboard
Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors
    Extra Task List
    1. Make those all important phone calls... who else (other than me) hasn't been for a smear in 15 years? done- phoned water company and went into Nationwide to sort out a direct debit.
    2. Wipe the radiators, skirtings and window & door frames!
    3. catch up on a big job you've been putting off all week!!
    4. End of week fling!! grab a binbag and fill it with stuff to leave the house.. rubbish or charity shop or to donate to a friend!
This is it so far, shall I update near the end of the day? I have done other stuff as well but it is not on the list lol!
Taking small steps to get myself more organised- both financially and in other areas too:D Big steps coming soon!

Well that's pretty much the whole of downstairs done. Just the upstairs to do now:rolleyes:
That'll take a while though i e the kids rooms as DS bedroom has to be sorted and packed away ready for decorating. Will do that over today and tomorrow I expect.

The washing marathon has come to a grinding halt as it's raining.

Off to the shop now for some basic essentials else we're all gonna starve for lunch.
    Be back later.

It's up to you when you update P&P. Sometimes it's more rewarding to strike through or delete as you go. I personally love the deleting bit and watching my long list get smaller.:D

Crafty - sorry to hear about your wrist, am sure Mudbath will be able to give you tips so that you can continue flying :D

SarahS - hope your eye is OK

Polly - my condolences on the loss of your uncle, I hope it was peaceful and it was good that you saw him last weekend

Loopy - have a great holiday

On the subject of smear tests I am uptodate but what I dread is turning 50 and the regular mammograms. Had to have them a few years ago after a lump and they were very painful and I am in the fried egg brigade, allegedly the bigger you are the worse it is BUT the alternative would be so much worse. Please everyone make these appointments.
Don't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli

Thank you to all who post competitions & help the smooth running of the comps board
  • Thanks TAG I love the deleting idea.

Pollybear sorry for your loss. xx

Girls go get those tests if you are due one - I have a friend who had a problem early thiry and had successful treatment and went on to have a third baby at 35.

Another friend is going through a scare at the moment but at least with my nagging she now has a consultant appointment. It should not hurt, maybe be a bit uncomfortable but that is all, if you are worried about the experience make an appointment and speak to them about it but do not bury your head in the sand.
