I'm going to try....Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

Evening all
Had another really nice day - with not quite so much walking thank goodness! It helped that I suggested that, as I was going to show him Poole and he's camped up at Swanage that we caught the Sandbanks chain link ferry across Poole harbour. We had to wait for an hour in the queue to get on it (serious method in my madness there!) So we chatted amiably about all sorts of things.
We had a late lunch when we got to Poole town centre and then spent an hour or so pottering around the museum there. Then it was time to drive him back to Swanage (the long way round but quicker than the ferry queue). Again, it was very easy and pleasant. I had no worries about my safety at all. It was almost like being reunited with a comfortable old slipper you'd lost.
We shall probably do it again next time he's in the area. And doubtless we'll be in touch over the family tree business.
But, I'd best go sort this dinner out. It was a mistake dropping him back there at that time. The queues to get out of Swanage and through Wareham were horrendous. I ended up making an illegal mobile phone call to ask DiL to stick the chicken in the oven for me... Just as well, I've not long been in having had the journey take 2 hours instead of the usual 45 minutes....I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Ebony has decided that he's not in the mood for bed-making as he's far too tired, after sleeping for most of the day, and only having been up for about an hour (you can tell he's a male cat) so I've been left doing it by my own!
OH has gone out to his shooting club (a regular Sunday night thing), and won't be back til about 9pm, so I won't be eating til late tonight. Looking forward to what we're having though - LM Sausages, potato bread, baked beans and fried egg. NYOM NYOM as michelle would say.
Have stripped the sheets, but can't air the duvet as it's been raining all day, and I don't have a banister as I live in a flat. It should be ok though, as it was washed last weekend.
Looking forward to another week of flying, although I was a bit too efficient last week, and got really bored today as I had no cleaning to do! How sad am I?

I'm in again and as usual I have a plan - just doing downstairs this week and the bathroom. Just changed all the kids beds and their rooms have all had a through deep clean this holiday.
So tomorrow I'll stick with you lot and do the kitchen.
Whilst making a cuppa in it earlier I decided that when Mum takes the kids away for a few days at the end of August I am going to decorate it (with OH helping a bit in the evenings and the weekends either side (I don't do windows and doors as I am dreadful at them). It is cream at the moment and think I'll just go for white - it has so much stuff in that room that a colour would just make it cluttered.
Off to do the ironing now.
Mudbath - did you DD like her room? Did she get a hammie?
G&B what happened about the mattress with the car parked on top?
Soappie I'm glad you had a good day. I love the beach across from sandbanks and also brownsea island you are lucky to live in such a nice place but I now know exactly what you mean about the holiday makers, it is so popular around there.
Oatie thing from the ASDA mag was lovely so will add that cutting to the tried and to do again folder.
Are Serena and AnW'sMum back this week? If so I hope you both had a lovely time.
Boddy glad you had a good day with your Mum
To the ironing (Polly thinking of you as I know you find it tough when DS goes back x)The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hi, have decided I am going to join you this week if that's ok. I've been off work for ages with a broken arm, house is a tip and I've been pretty depressed what with one thing and another. I've been reading this thread for a couple of weeks and still done nothing so I figured if I post this, then maybe I'll actually do something instead of spending hours lying on the sofa watching rubbish tv and feeling sorry for myself! I may only achieve level 1, but at least that'll be something!
Think I'll fit in ok as I too like to 'sort' my pegs and use the same colour pair to peg things out!!
