I don't buy value bread. I go in the evenings and get reduced to clear and bung it in the freezer.

I do buy warburtons white pre-sliced baps but as my husband has the use of only one hand. Don't think it is such a good idea to make him cut them. And when I can get them 10p for 12 allows me to justify them instead of £1.35 +

Most other bread is wholemeal/granary or if it white it is the ones with extra fibre in it. Bought a Hovis Half and half loaf the other week down to 20p in Tescos not sure of the proper price.

  • I've never bought the value bread before and am planning on making bread and butter pudding at the weekend, do you think it would be okay?

It ought to work well. To be honest, I would think buying the stuff off the discount rack would be better, as you want it a bit old, don't you?

the tesco value half baked baquettes are unmissable. 2 in a pack and white. slice down the middle and top with value tomato puree, cheese, any any toppings you like,ie peppers, chicken, onion, mushrooms, ets anything leftovers. put into oven for 8-10 mins. fantastic.

I've got some of these in the oven atm, they're great aren't they :T
