I have bought it but IMHO is only good for toast, do you have a LIDL near by, I bought some bread on Monday and it was 37p a loaf, it was lovely and soft and tasted nice too, made sandwiches with it and OH didn't complain, he likes Hovis, but hes not getting Hovis at £1.22 per loaf."Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. I have started to buy it again just to use as toast.
We buy a more expensive loaf for sandwiches (Roberts, £1.25 at the minute in Tesco) but they 37p Value one for toast, cheese on toast etc so save on the expensive stuff.
My husband actually prefers this for toast over the more expensive stuff as it comes out quite crispy (well not crispy but you know what I mean, crunchy or whatever).
It's late. Best I get to bed.

I've also bought it for toast but found that it goes off quite quickly, get that vinegar smell after a day or two0

I haven't eaten white bread for about 10 days now. I'm starting too feel much more alert, I think it was making me groggy?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Its only good for taoast or for sandwhiches with a 'wet' filling as its so dry, even that has shot up from 36p last year to 72p today. Makes a good egg and bacon sandwhich to its merit.
We do but about 2 loaves of it a week and the kids dont seem to complain but i can't get the artisan to do a loaf with out being a bit sticky in the middle although boule and buns are no problem.0 -
My goodness, i just read some are still paying 30+p a loaf.
Do tesco express's have higher prices than the main store?0 -
I have started to buy Netto's 37p loaf. It's actually okay, wished I would of tried it months ago.0

We buy it and stick it in the freezer. Makes it easier to grate (using a cheese grater) to make breadcrumbs and keeps for longer. Perfectly acceptable for toast too!0 -
we buy morrisons stay fresh @ 59p and it does keep for a week , plus it tastes lovely too. i think the value range of bread is a false economy to be honest as it goes hard so quicktrying to lose 3 stone by end of 2014;)0
