No I only like wholegrain bread with the nutty bits in it and as I only eat less than a loaf a week I usually buy a loaf and freeze it as then I can take out what I need daily .
Not mad keen on bread anyway but I do like a nice piece of toast and marmalade for breakfast with about three cups of tea that keeps me going all morning.:)

the tesco value half baked baquettes are unmissable. 2 in a pack and white. slice down the middle and top with value tomato puree, cheese, any any toppings you like,ie peppers, chicken, onion, mushrooms, ets anything leftovers. put into oven for 8-10 mins. fantastic.
  • We buy the Tesco value wholemeal bread all the time and I think its fine! We freeze it and take slices out as needed as we don't eat bread every day. I use it for all purposes and haven't had any complaints.

Try Aldi's Village Bakery Bread 37p a loaf and very very good. All mine eat it without complaint, mind you that could be because i've told them until they do the shopping ( and pay for it) they eat what i give them or go without!:rotfl:
Honestly though it is very good bread.

    Hi

The value bread is great - depending on what you want it for. I buy at least one loaf a week to use in the toastie maker (I've got two boys!!) but for actual sandwiches we use wholemeal or buns.

The value buns are great value and so are the bread mixes to put in the bread machines if you don't have everything to hand. It really comes down to what you need and who you have to fill up.

Hmmm interesting discussion... i'm a wholemeal lover...buy a loaf and stick it in the freezer and take out pieces as required. Normally buy the middle of the range loaf...

However as a treat (once a wekk or so) I buy the fresh hovis loaf from the bakery, but I make sure its warm... if I'm going to buy fresh bread - it MUST be fresh!!!!!

I like the value brown, but the slices are very thin.

If I ever run out of home made, I buy the Tesco Finest wholemeal. I now find any bought bread salty - and it goes mouldy quickly. The above is the best - I resent paying so much for bought bread.

Does anyone buy value Tesco bread and like it?

It's not that bad. I can't stand the ASDA value bread, but the Tesco stuff is better. The ASDA stuff seems undercooked, somehow. Not the case with Tesco. To be honest, for kids' sandwiches and toast and stuff, it is a good value.
