I was scammed out of lots of money last year, and although I kept up the payments then, I have fallen behind now.
Do you think this will be accepted as a reason by head office?0 -
depends how you were scammed hon. if it was easily forseeable then more than like ly not. if it wasn't then yes it should be. we all make mistakes. yes the fsa does have a policy on credit was it not shown in my link above?debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0

No it doesn't show in the link.
I really need this new job,
I am petrified, that this is going to hold me back.
I just wish I knew Lloyds TSB policy around this.0 -
why don't you call the people who have offered you the job and speak to them tomorrow, ask them if you can see the policy or an employees handbook.
If cheltenham and gloucester say no hon that isn't the end of you, there are other options. if you manage to find a plan b then you will be less petrified and easier to focus. have you been able to speak to any recruitment agencies? try hayes recruitment and reed employment, they have lots of mortgage advior jobs going. not necessarily in a high street bank but it will give you a plan b.
Keep googling every combination that you can.
Financial soundness4.64 This criterion prompted many responses. The main area of concern was a
rigid interpretation of the factors to be taken into account by the FSA in
judging an application. A few respondents suggested that financial soundness
should focus solely on bankruptcy and court orders.
4.65 Many respondents raised the point that the fact that individuals may be of
limited means should not imply that their own financial interests would be
placed above those of their customers. The FSA’s response4.66 The FSA will take information regarding financial soundness into account,
but will not reject an application solely on the grounds that the applicant is of
limited financial means. We do not normally require submission of a
statement of assets and liabilities. However, we will have regard to an
individual’s financial integrity and will look beyond bankruptcy and court
orders in making a full assessment of financial soundness.debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
whether, in the United Kingdom or elsewhere, the person has made any
arrangements with his creditors, filed for bankruptcy, been adjudged
bankrupt, had assets sequestrated, or been involved in proceedings relating
to any of these.2.3.2 G The FSA will not normally require the candidate to supply a statement of assets or
liabilities. The fact that a person may be of limited financial means will not, in itself,
affect his suitability to perform a controlled function.debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
I will try calling them tomorrow.
I have contacted all the agencies and they all say that adverse credit will cause a problem.
It has caused a problem, head office have told them not to employ me.
Because they really want to employ me they are appealing it. However there is no gurantee that this appeal will be successful, and if unsuccessful, then no other bank is going to take me on, according to the agencies, all banks have the same kind of policies on this issue.
The reason why I need to move is because my job is no longer secure at the moment.
Because the market is really bad, I think at the moment the best place to work and to progress my career is a bank.0 -
If the C&G appeal fails maybe you could appeal yourself - You could write a letter and say you are happy to be monitored at regular intervals - have your bank account audited etc?0

yes but they have loads of other candidates that are ready to step into the role and have a clean credit record.
With the way the market is, banks are getting inundated with applicants moving from estate agents and brokers.
The manager can just take on someone else, I don't think the manager will wait for me to write to them and wait for them to reply.
They need someone to start as soon as possible!0 -
I am extremley close to getting this job. I have settled the credit card in question, and have proof, and further I have fully cleared my overdraft arrears.
There is not a lot out there for mortgage advisers, because vacancies are few and far between and competition is extremley high. (due to market condtions) Plus I have very little experience too.
Do people think that this be enough to employ me?
I will be devastated and extremley upset if I don't get the job now.0 -
good luck ! im sure you will get it though0
