Had hassle last Friday night when Pizza Hut rang me less than an hour after delivering our pizza's saying we'd have to pay £10 and they were sending a driver round, so told him maybe he'd better come as he seemed to know most about it! We spent £50.09 (all of the family were over!) We spent twice & a half the minimum spend (of £20), we used more than one token (as per T&C), we topped up with cash (as per T&C). Bloke tried to tell me that he'd entered vouchers one by one and two £20's were fine, but that last one came up as invalid £10 minimum spend. Tried to explain that this was the stupid way his system was set-up to input vouchers (or possibly his lack of training, but I didn't say that to him, ha ha). He turned up an hour later when the kids were sleeping, had to stand out in the freezing cold explaining to a brick wall how I wasn't wrong and said that I'd leave it til the morning when Clubcard Helpline reopened and sort it out then. They, of course confirmed that I was right and said they'd had a lot of problems with Pizza Hut as a lot of them are franchises and weren't sure of voucher procedure. Said branch should speak to their area manager to clarify the situation. Still haven't brought round to him the £10 voucher he left with me (for reference if necessary when I rang helpline), let him come to me now! Might still get some more PH vouchers, but will use a different branch next time, although the number (0800 464646) puts you through to your nearest one automatically!:wall:
NB: Don't bother with the chilli onion rings or the garlic bread, they're the biggest rip-off I've ever known. Tiny portions, dry and bland! Got 6 small onion rings for £3.49!! That's 58p each!! and £1.99 for 4 slices of GB!!0 -

It's the same anywhere, though. Sides are high profit items - each slice of garlic bread costs us (I think) 4.5p, so a portion of 4 costs around 18p - over 1000% (I think my maths is right!) profit at 1.99. But you need things like that to combat the higher cost items, such as bottles of drink (which are surprisingly expensive) and stuff like Ben and Jerrys ice cream. Wsell it at 3.99 but each tub costs us 1.88. It's the way any restaurant operates; you need some cheap items to sell for a large profit to make up for the items you can't sell for a high profit. For every pound a restaurant spends on food, they need to take £4 to cover their costs and make them a profit. The reason why Ben and Jerrys doesn't cost £7.52 per tub is because we sell garlic bread for 1.99!0 -
