We didn't make it to the harbour as I felt too yucky

We walked up to Tesco Express instead  and I spent 8 quid on bits for lunches and some stuff for dinner tonight.
I have, however, been thinking even more about the mortgage ...
I have two very different aims in my head:
Plan A: Have another baby; preferably with a nice guy I may meet one day  but if not, then go down the go-it-alone route.
Plan B: Clear the mortgage by my 40th, August 2013, which gives me 4 yrs 10 mths to do this
Plan A would be my preferred choice but it involves a lot of other factors; Plan B would be a huge leap forward from my original mfd date, but I feel I need to push myself more again recently, I seem to be plodding again at the moment. If I went for plan B we would be able to buy a nice house then with a garden rather than my small (but gorgeous;) ) flat. Hmm decisions decisions ... well for now I'm sticking to plan B and keeping my eyes open for Mr Right
Even if I change from plan B to Plan A at some point, then it will help if the mortgage is as low as possible
I'll update more later as to my plans for plan B but ds is badgering me for a turn on the laptop

So, finally got my laptop back
I've gone through several mortgage calculators and to stay on track to clear the mortgage in less than 5 years I need to be down to 50K (or less!!) by Xmas and then be down to 42,000 by the end of next year. For each 1,000 I knock off the mortgage it means an extra 4.00 a month is going towards the capital rather than interest; doesn't sound much but at the moment 120.00 of the 340.00 payment goes towards the capital, once I get down to 42,000 this will have increased to 160.00

So, phase one is to get down to 50K by xmas; just under 2k to go but this will include 3 x normal payments (each reducing capital by 120), the 185 I currently have in the mortgage pot and just over 1k I have already budgeted to have from quidco / mystery shops etc. Basically this means I have just over 500 to find this year
Phase two will be explained in more detail at the end of the year, but having already looked at how I could find 8k I reckon I should be able to find 7.5k with a fair bit of effort, leaving another 500 quid to be made along the way :eek:Mortgage Total: £49,992/ £75,000

Wowee.... I love it when there's a long term plan that works and you can fit it into short term goals as well. And the long term is flexible too, whether its progressing to a house or a baby (aww, another dfw baby!!!)
Good stuff. Hope you feel better this evening.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ds decided to tell me earlier that hs'e been thinking about what to ask Father Christmas for this year  ... he goes on to say he only wants two things .... his own laptop with youtube on it and a toy South West train
Theres no chance of the laptop at his age, he is getting a VTech kiddie one as my sister bought it for him in the summer sales, but no way is he having a real one at 5
I've googled the train and the only ones available are Hornby ones which start at about 70 quid and this is just for one little engine  He wouldn't appreciate it, he just wants one to put on his little train set and bash around with all the others  Hmmm, will need to start thinking about this one

Big decision BB, but you've plenty of time to think about it - could always wait until you're 39 and a bit to do the pregnancy thing and then achieve both!;)
I always thought I'd have more than one child but as time rolls on I think that's my lot. Mr Clooney has obviously lost my number...Mortgage OP 2026 £640/2000Mortgage balance: £32,240
