I know what you mean!! I want to pay off my mortgage completely by the day before my 44th birthday (which would be 25 yrs to the day of getting my 1st ever mortgage though I've moved since) Over the weekend I worked out that if I can save (while I can get a better rate that my mortgage int rate eg my ISA) or overpay my mortgage by £300/month I should be mortgage free by the time I'm 41 :j :j (instead of 52) I should hopefully be able to do this from my salary if I can live fairly frugally so could possibly lower it even further. I can't quite believe it and keep thinking I've calculated it incorrectly:rotfl: Now if I can manage to find £50/month more that I'll be mortgage free by the time I'm 40! How cool would that be!!
Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

At first when I think of these random plans they sound like pie in the sky, but once they are broken down they are fairly manageable
They are, aren't they, thank heavens.Aim: 880.00Maintenance overpayments 240.00
Sell the Wii 130.00
AQA (50 p/m) 200.00
Matched betting (75 p/m) 300.00Which only leaves a tenner to find :eek:That seems too simple now, surely theres a catch??
:rotfl: The catch is that AQA and matched betting will take time! So will selling the Wii come to that, or you'd have done it before!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yep your right, but the Wii shouldn't take too long once I've got the guts to list it  and I am really enjoying the matched betting, its just the AQA thats dull
We've just got back from the beach, we went down with a picnic and met some friends at their beach hut and ds has played happily with their kids all afternoon and its cost nowt :T :T so as a treat we stopped at the chippie to get some dinner, sausage and chips each, which cost 3.75Now I'm just catching up on here for five minutes before ds has a bath and bed (we're practising school-nights bedtime routine ready for next week so it doest come as a big shock
), then its my turn to crack on with more stuff  I'm thinking about adding more bits on ebay to my list as I saw their new fees earlier and I think that will be the end of my ebaying days, it won't be worth the bother at all

The matched bet from last night has settled, it was looking like team b would win which would have meant I would win at Betfair, but team A scored in the 94th minute to mean I won at the bokies instead, which is fine but it will take a few days to get the money back as its a new account and they want to check I'm genuine
Still, its 60 quid made from the bet so I'm happy

BBaM,
Where did you get all your info about matched betting from? How easy is it to get into as what I have seen looks complicated....sorry to be a nuisance!:rolleyes:0 -
Hi Chip, I read, read and re-read all the stickies on the gambling board. I then made my own notes from everything on there and ten read it all again
It was definitely worth it, once you get it its not as bad as it seems at first
