I posted 5 of the 7 ebay items today and one more has paid today so need to get that sent tomorrow. I've also just ordered a £10 gift voucher from a survey site

Ds got his school report today and it nearly made me cry :o:D His teachers have written really lovely comments about how much he's improved since Christmas and how he's becoming much more popular and has made a real effort with friendships :j They don't get proper levels yet, but for Maths he's where they'd expect him to be, for writing he's working towards where they'd expect him to be (below average in normal words  ;)), and for reading he's above where they'd expect him to be :D I'm a very happy mummy tonight. They also found out about their new teachers today and he's got another job-share next year, I dont mind though its worked really well for him this year :D

Don't worry about that - by definition, half the population is below average.

    Hi BenBen,

My son has some special needs. He was originally diagnosed with Specific Language Impairment because of receptive and expressive communication difficulties, he also had issues with fine motor control and social skills. I am so pleased to hear that your DS is making such good progress, at such an early age. He will likely go from strength to strength.

With early intervention from services, and a lot of work on my part, he has done very well at his primary school, has lots of friends and is within the top quartile for almost everything. His last two teachers never realised he had any difficulties.

My son is 10 now and is being reassessed, at the moment, for CAPD and dyslexia. The head teacher believes that although my DS has developed terrific coping strategies, there is still more that can be done to correct the underlying difficulties. Believes son is extremely bright and should be leaving school with level F's, which very few children are able to get in Scotland, while at primary school.

So I am back down the Educational Psychologist, Speech and language Therapist, Paediatrician, Audiologist route again. I think things have got so much easier with the passage of time, though, and their reports now fascinate rather than terrify me. I have accepted that my DS is unique and really enjoy my time with him. He is one wee character!!

My son will be receiving the top prize for effort and attainment in his school, this year, at their prize giving ceremony, and I am so proud. I can really relate to how you felt when you got your DS's school report. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Keep up the good work x.

Thank you Scrooge and well done for your ds, I think it makes us even prouder than those parents whose children do well but haven't faced any hurdles along the way ;):D

I went to my parenting course tonight (last one next week), and I won a yummy bottle of shower gel :D A friend also gave me a £10 voucher today for when I book ds birthday party

Evening all, well today I have spent £3.00 on food at work and my tesco order has arrived which was £42.53, that did include crisps / sweets to put away for ds birthday party ;)

Tonight I must get the place a bit tidier, it is an utter disgrace again already, I'm sure its only because I know the holidays are coming up so I'm in wind-down mode :o Tomorrow night we have ds swimming lesson followed straight after by parents evening, so nothing will get done then either.

I also have several surveys to fill in from my inbox tonight and then theres the cakes for ds school summer fayre on saturday and a fancy dress costume to make / think about   I also need to get a voucher for my friend who's leaving work, I organised a collection and told everyone I would get the present last weekend which I did, but this week 4 more people have given me money towards it
