Hi Benbenandme, another long term lurker, just popping out of lurkedom for a minute:D.

I discovered your diary during the school summer holidays last year, and I have been an avid reader ever since. I have to say you have been such an inspiration to me and I have picked up lots of money saving tips along the way.

I felt I could relate to your story due to being in a similar position ie; single mum, working, with a mortgage and a similiar income. So far I have managed to pay off my overdraft and since January put aside £200 a month to go towards paying off the mortgage. (I have an interest only mortgage and have had for far too long:o.)

You sound like you do a fantastic job with your DS, you are always there being supportive and making sure he has lots of happy memories. You should be very proud of all that you acheive:D.

I spoke to a friend who does after school club about my washing machine (her hubby is an electrician), and less than 2 hours later he has sent round one of his men who has fixed it and only charged me a tenner :T :T I'm very happy as now I dont need to squeeze in a trip to the launderette and I will have some clean clothes to take on holiday with me :D:D

I've just put the third load in ;):D

We're going near Seaton, was a Sun holiday and worked out at about £100 for the whole week, in a 2 bed chalet, including linene, entertainment passes, kids entertainment, swimming pool etc. It is self-catering but thats fine as ds is so fussy, at least I'm not paying for wasted food ;)

Ds isn't asleep yet, but once he is I need to crack on with more preparation stuff, I must print off the directions for a start  :D ... Tigz will be able to tell you all how utterly useless I am at directions :o:o;)

Hope you and your son have a good time in Devon BB. We are all off to West Wales for the week, no laptop with me I am afraid, so will catch up with your diary when I get back.
