I have done an hour of ironing while watching the olympics.......now having a cup of coffee.
If only there was a medal for coffee drinking - I would be in with a chance of gold :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Have done my kitchen and made dinner.
Forget the ironing, the conservatory looks like a laundry.0 -
When DS was a baby my Mum treated us (and her) to a proper bucket and spade holiday at Littlehampton. The Commonwealth games were on and the hotel owner was a complete addict-everything revolved around the Games each day-and she completely took over the guest lounge and TV-even meal times were subject to change if an event was good enough LOL
Waiting for my first ASDA shop to arrive-I usually use Mr T but wanted to use my electron based account this week (Why don't MrT's take electron on line when they do in the stores anyway ???) Anything I should know about when the delivery arrives (compared to how Mr T's does it) ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Hi Duchy,
I order from Asda every week and they just hand you a sheet that is sectioned in to different categories ie. household, dairy etc and then once they have given you your shopping they ask you to sign an electronic thingy.
HTH...did look at ordering from Mr.T's but I found them way too expensive.

Never done an Asda delivery so don't know how they compare....sorry!
Dinner today will be a pasta carbonara - cheap quick and easy. We also have a tinned jam sponge pudding and a tin of evap milk in the cupboard which will do nicely for a pudSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Well my Mr T order arrived just now
And yes Hypno I did mean my BOGOFs didn't register on my checkout total.
So here's what it looked like:
Total £85 including £5.50 delivery- none of the free delivery codes or typing FREE DELIVERY worked
Less £10 on a £70 shop - code from the grabbit board.
When it came in the total was £56 so the £10 off was a cheat
I couldn't get the 1000(?) points as well, as you aren't allowed to use 2 XX codes. None of my shop coupons worked. but I was pleasantly surprised at the even sized loose vegetables. I was convinced that I'd get the over-large carrots for eg, or 2 leeks one size XXL and one XSML :rotfl:
And I get a Quidco £5 (I hope) or 5% or something.0 -
One thing I noticed with ASDA is their substitutions policy that says if they substitute you won't be charged for a higher priced product. It really bugs me with Mr T's that substitutions are always much dearer than the unavailable product.
ASDA never used to deliver this far so nice to have more choice. We do pretty well here Tesco Sainsburys and ASDA for a charge (ha no chance- free delivery code or no order from me) plus Co-op Iceland and Somerfield will deliver shops done in store for free.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Yup that is true, they have substituted a few things with me in the past and it has always been for a higher value and I wasn't charged more.
The last thing was Sugar Puffs, I wanted their own brand and they sent me two boxes of Sugar Puffs at no extra charge.0 -
Second time of trying - am off out for walk with a friend - anything to escape stroppy teenage DD !!!!Hows your new paper diary coming along Hypno???0

Yep, Asda aren't bad at all - tho one time I ordered their frozen broad beans they were *disgusting*, rotten or unfrozen or pea pod, I threw away a third of it... but their substitutions policy is really efficient.
I'm getting on with the kitchen - fear always works with housework! Dishes, main worksurface, hob.. all done. Recycling prepared, cleaned some bits that have been waiting for ages to be cleaned and put away, nipping away at dead leaves on aloe veras while waiting for coffee to brew - one of the friends coming round next week gave me the original one, so it has to look a bit better than it does!
Happy happy shiny me!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
