Oh shaun, what a hellish time you have all had - I hope little one is well on the road to recovery today and that you can all get the sleep you need xxx

It is 5.15am on Sunday - so of course I am up, pumping caffeine into me in order that I can take DS to a ski race. DD opted out, and is doing the paper round for DS instead. I could do without going today TBH but...........

Anyway, hope you all have a good, and healthy, day x

Oof, some bad news on here this morning - Shaun, sorry your little one has been through such trauma, but glad you realised you needed the hospital and they could get it sorted. Taxi, I'm never sure if you're sleepless or working, but hypno should definitely be sleeping, I know that much - 5.20!!! I'm pumping my caffeine into me at a much more reasonable 8am. See you all later. x

Well it depends on how much you're repointing, but if it needs an angle grinder to remove it, then it doesn't need replacing. MC Hammer and [strike]screwdriver[/strike] chisel will suffice.

Of course if you're doing a whole wall instead of repointing the bad bits, then angle grinder it is.

    Hi Z:hello: how are you?

The emergency bit was about ten feet up a ladder, above a window, and I wasn't even going to try to do that. But just walking around the house, you can see hole after hole in the mortar, its very obvious that its not the builder trying to scare me. The other thing is that using a chisel even on a square yard would quite frankly be beyond me, I don't have that kind of intense physical strength - I have the kind of strength that keeps going (well, except when I fall over :rotfl:). I get the feeling that eventually it will be a whole wall up to about head height. Plus apparently it can be used on my metal handrail up the garden steps, to sand it and grind away the rust. So an angle grinder in a pretty little case it is!

    Morning one and all.

Shaun - so sorry to hear about your little one, thank god you took him to the hospital. I hope the error is reported back to the midwives supervisor so she doesn't put other babies through this. You must have been worried to death.

Hypno - arggghhh way too early to be up. Hope DS has a good day racing.

  • Hi Hypno, I'm a habitual lurker on lots of threads, but starting to post a little more frequently. I've been reading your thread for a couple of days now (you sound just like me with busy expensive kids lol).

I hate to be a pain, but can I just ask, where did you train for your hypnotherapy, NLP etc? I hope you don't mind me asking, its just that I'm on long term sick from teaching and considering a bit of a career change and it's one of the areas i'm looking into. It's a very strange feeling at 36 to feel like you are 16 and starting your life off again!

    Thanks, anyway

goodlife - I will PM you with the info.......I retrained at the age of 35, so not much difference!

Skiing was pants today - DS was just too tired (like his Mother) and although he came 4th, he knows he really didn't work at it, and in the team event he got his whole team disqualified by skiing out.........we couldn't wait to get back in the car and get home!! Some days are like that though, and you just have to accept them and move on!

While I was there, I had a long phone chat with one of the MSE stalwarts, and I have decided to re-group a bit.......new diary to follow. I will put a link in when I have done the first post.
