  • Hi Hypno

I'm still reading and still in AWE, well done. Is your OH as obsessed as we all are with this site and the snowball etc or does he just wait for the updates from you? Obviously from his hard work he is as committed as you are, I was just wondering if he was as nutty as us lot are who get so excited with the updates on this site :p

You know i was wondering about this too..if you can pass any of OH's tips for Mr.B will be eternally grateful..

    And definately well done.:T

OH's top tip would be "let the missus do it"

OH works incredibly hard, but has NO enthusiasm for the debtbusting - he leaves it all to me. He wants us to be debt free, but he is not a numbers person - he would much rather just work his hardest and leave the rest to me! He has done some crappy extra shifts in the past to bring in the extra money, so he certainly does his bit.

I do try and keep him updated......but it sort of goes right over his head most of the time!

Oh so not as nutty as us lot then :o He sounds very similar to my OH. But he must surely feel the sense of relief at having gone from 100k to the amount you're at now and he obviously has alot of faith in you to do your 'stuff' while he works hard so he must feel safe. Must admit I quite 'like' having the control of the money so can't imagine being in his place :o although I do often think that 'ignorance' is bliss and wish I could be more that way
I sometimes moan at my OH that I sort all the money out but then I don't think I'd like it any other way poor thing can't win :p

I think his other top tip would be "humour her and don't dare say 'if you spent as much time with me as you did with that bloody website'!" :rotfl:

That is exactly how it is with us. Sometimes I get frustrated and angry that all he has to do is go out to work, whereas I have to work out numbers, spreadsheets, deal with credit files, what to pay and when etc. BUT at least by doing it myself, I know exactly where we are - the control freak in me is happy!

We are in this together - all debt is joint debt, and all money is joint money......it is just the responsibility of sorting out that debt and that money is mine! It has worked for the last 18 years, so I don't suppose we will change things now!

Thanks gemmz - you're not doing badly yourself!!

Mind you, to be on target, I will have to pay off £30k next year rather than the £20k that I have paid off this year..........

You have three and a half months yet so if you can clear £5k, then next year is £25k too and if you've done it one year then you can do it again!

no, 12 months is £31k to pay off......so unless I pay off more than £5k more by the end of this year, I will still have to find £31k in 2009, then £5k in Jan and Feb 2010 to be debt free on target.

But of course, I love a challenge :p

but will you be paying less interest next year as your debts are smaller and therefore more money will go towards the actual debts and the debts will reduce quicker??  or am I confused :o:o:D
