Yes, race camp is skiing.....they are there all week.
As for the cost - for us it is a lot because they do so much - they ski all year round.....dry slope all year, with odd forays to the snowdomes, and as much training on snow as they can get, where they do race training, racing and schooling......so very expensive.
"normal" ski holidays are generally more expensive than most other types of holidays - it all depends on what you want, where you want to go, and how much you are going to enjoy it - for me it is worth every penny for the adrenaline rush it gives mebut others hate the mere thought of it.....
