I'm the same the windowcleaner always calls when I have no cash so I've added him to my internet banking. Now he puts a note through when he cleans them and I pay on-line-suits both of us better.
Really? Thats good.. I'm so much more organised with my banking and internet stuff, this would suit me so much better. Don't know why but I doubt my window cleaner offers this, will check with him though, thanks.

Pre LBM we always had little heaps of coins around the house, and used to take £100+ cash out per week  (shopped in local shops, still do but it is £20-£30 max per week nowadays).
Now any money is budgeted so we don't have the cash around the house. The milkman takes a cheque each month
Though I have got a few hundred rand on my bedside table :rotfl: (part of the budget, pays for my journey from the airport next month - did I mention I'm going to see Popeye in 4 weeks time???)0 -
I cancelled my window cleaner for that reason - he would leave a note saying he had called....then before I know it, it has been 3 visits before we catch up with eachother and I had to find £40-50 or whatever, which of course is then nigh on impossible!
So now I just let my windows get dirty - saves nosy neighbours seeing how untidy I am :rotfl:
I try not to keep any cash in the house - otherwise it is too easy to send one of the children to the shop for stuff we are short on, whereas the reality usually is that we can survive until I do a bigger shop later in the week.
It seems to be working well - my shopping cost less last month because we were more discliplined with spending, and I am very happy to say that we did not use the overdraft, and certainly not the "reserve" that Barclays now supply, so no bank charges for us in August :T
I have to say, I am amazed at how much difference not having to pay the Tesco Loan has made - the last payment of £200 was made at the beginning of July, and so in August that was £200 we didn't have the pressure to find. Now we have paid off the Egg card, so that is £100 that we don't have to find.
So, all of a sudden, our SOA is better off by £300 a month - now obviously we still want to pay that £300 off the next debt a la snowball calculator, but there is not the pressure there to do so.....if we can't find the £300 then it is not going to cause any problems.....if we can find it, then it is now an overpayment and as such a bonus!!
After all this time, the snowball calculator is finally doing its thing!! And the debts will start to tumble!!!

I've found a recipe for rabbit and chocolate :rotfl:
*but I hate rabbit*
I'm going to cook with the stuff because you're all getting at me.
I suppose if you had unopened cashew nuts or pine nuts in your cupboard I would be shocked
mmmm toasted pine nuts.........
mmmmm - like those too! They wouldn't survive long here either!
It is not so much that you haven't used it if you are not so keen .... but how on earth you managed to accumulate so much in the first place!!! :rotfl:0 -
Another £50 client money received this afternoon, so another £50 paid off HSBC and another square coloured in........:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Hello all
I don't post much over here but have been following your diary for a bit now, just wanted to pop into say how inspired I am by just how much you achieve! Keep it up!
I got carried away this afternoon and did myself a nice "squares" chart......showed it to DH when he came home and got one of those "colouring in boxes? Just how old are you" looks..... I'm sure he'll see sense soon enough!
As for all the choccy talk - call me sad but I love the asda 23p choccy - trouble is they don't make the bars big enough :EasterBun"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hi Pooky!! Thanks for popping up to say hello!!
I love my squares thing - although this morning I was fighting DD for the coloured pencils because she wanted to colour my square in......how very dare she!!!!
I am now tantalisingly close to being under £50k.......7 more squares until I get there........:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
