£25 profit for the client I have just seen.....cash which needs to go into the bank so I must make sure I don't spend it before I go anywhere near a bank on Tuesday.......always difficult!!

I have a couple of hours before the next client, so can sit with coffee and laptop and the olympics on the telly :D

  • Hypno I know what you mean about spending the cash, before it gets to the bank, being difficult. What I do is put it in an envelope with the paying in slip filled in and seal it. I know it can always be opened but it seems to stop me dipping into it for some reason easier than if it was in my purse. Although you are probably (definately) more motivated than me so you probably won't spend it anyway.

    Good Morning
Right-Neighbour was due for coffee at 11 and hasn't shown so have extra declutter time before work.
The diningroom/office looks masses bigger now I've removed the cellar door that opened into it (always left the door open anyway so it was just taking up space) and fridge freezer is now in alcove next to doorway. Today is a work day but also an Amazon listing day. I have a load of history textbooks as well as other bits and pieces to list and now all the exam results are out I'm presuming people will be looking forward to the new term and what books they will need so seems like the time to do it. I have a big empty box next to the desktop PC and as the books are listed they will go in it so I can actually FIND them if they sell.
Hopefully I'll also find my debitcard which has vanished whilst I declutter !

KM, what I have done is to make a transfer from my current account to the HSBC card that I am currently making my overpayment "target". So now I HAVE to replace that money with the cash from my client otherwise there won't be enough in the current account to cover the bills!

Hopefully it will work, but in any event, the HSBC balance is now a little lower than it was this morning!

This afternoon's client is a new one so I don't know if they will proceed with a session after our initial "chat" so not counting on any money there.....but I have another couple of people booked in for the next week, so the money is trickling in nicely without putting me under too much time pressure.

duchy, I hope you find that debit card.

I've found a recipe for rabbit and chocolate :rotfl:

    *but I hate rabbit :D *

I'm going to cook with the stuff because you're all getting at me.
I suppose if you had unopened cashew nuts or pine nuts in your cupboard I would be shocked :p

KM and Hypno - both those systems sound good! I'm less organised, I must say - but its never occurred to me to spend money thats due to go to the bank - maybe its easier for me cos I don't have kids. I also have a float for emergencies, which in the family we call a slush fund. Saves a lot of hassle.

No as I said the door is left open 365 days a year anyway and it's never cold in that room. I did think about that too. The cellar door and steps are in the middle of the house not the edge so it's pretty well insulated. No exterior walls.

  • Karma if I had a slush fund in the house I would spend it :o Not on emergencies tho... probably on chocolate or crisps or sweets :o:o I rarely have cash on me to be honest and its sooo embarrassing when the window cleaner comes and I say 'oh sorry I've not been to the bank AGAIN!' I do give him his money eventually though, honest just usually have to say call back in 10 mins and I'll dash to cash machine :o Organised me? Of course :p

I'm the same the windowcleaner always calls when I have no cash or when I'm working from home and can't answer the door so I've added him to my internet banking. Now he puts a note through when he cleans them and I pay on-line-suits both of us better.
