How old is he? Is he going to the toilet properly? If he were mine and I suspected cat flu and possible bowel problems, I'd take him straight to the vet.

We were pondering that, we only rescued him yesterday at 6, as his mother's not looking after him. I tried the advice of using some rough paper as a subsitute for mother's tounge to help similate toilet actions, but nothing. If he's not been eating much, we're wondering if he'll just go when he's ready and full up.

We've got him semi settled now, he's curled up on my other half's lap, but we'll take him to the vet anyway this week, as we do with all recue kittens - get teh cat flu shot sorted and get them checked.

We're not sure how old he is, i'm guessing at least 5 weeks because he can run around, but we think it could be about 6/7 weeks.

You can give kittens a few drops of Infacol for the bloating.

Used it many times on rabbits, and this site also advises infant colic drops for bloating.

We've got him back to london, we've got 4 cats, the alpha, a queen, 2 seven month kits from the same farm, and our new addition.
I'm pretty sure the queen is the same on all 3 kittens, as the older 2 are twins, but they both look idential to thier mother, and we know she's the mother of our new kit, even better however is one of the older kits was the runt of the litter as well, and he's gotton very protective over our new addition, won't go anywhere without him, and not a peep out of kit, he's using the litter tray (which i'm gobsmacked about, we didn't even show him where it is, he just found it and went). His tum still feels a little tight, but we're just seeing if its because he wolfed down food as soon as we put plenty down for him, but we'll take him down vets tomorrow, get a checkup done.

It's a good sign that he's gone to the loo. Well done you for taking him in.

The funny thing in, 5 years ago I was terrified of cats - my cosuin had 10 of them, and they dug thier claws into me, and I hated it. Firstly we found 2 kittens that had been abandoned in our shed, we looked after them, tamed one, the other was too far gone with cat flu, and then my partner found another wild cat he tamed, she then had 3 kittens, but 2 died at 6 months, and she them had another 2 kittens we've still got, and a black and white cat started coming into our house, we can't touch her much, but we feed her and she sleeps under the kitchen table, then our first cat went off, never came back :( (this is at funkyfarmgirls's), so we've now got 5 cats there, we've just given 4 kittens away to good homes, at worst, we had 13 cats!

There's then the farm with about 20 odd cats on we leave food for, and thats where 3 of mine came from, we can't help taming them and giving them a home, we get attached very quickly!

Yeah, we're taking the queen here next week, and the problem with the ones at funkyfarm girls is that they're back in season as soon as they've given birth, hard to catch them without knowing the the farm cats have gotton to them at night. Although we do have a pure ginger queen, thats luckily infertile, so thats one cat down. We have tried cats protection as we heard if they were rescued, they can give a subsidence towards getting them fixed, but they said no, but we'll take them once the next lot have been born, as we know 2 of them are definatly pregnant. We've got plenty of names and numbers that want kittens though, so they've already got good homes ready for them :)

Ginger queens are so rare - all my gingers have been toms (and all have been wanderers).

We've had 3 - one breeding (our little one is from a pure ginger longhaired queen), the other 2 infertile, but thats only because they're all farmcats, but they're all adorable :)
