    Hi
my little c1 vibe 3dr was almost a grand cheaper than the citroen that you have on your list. It is incredibly cheap to run.

PS i got it from a local main dealer

Yeah I've heard they are very cheap to run:j

Them & the Argo are virtually the same car aren't they.

    Hi MrsE,
i`ve never seen the argo so i`m not sure. My c1 was bought from new last year and has just had it`s first service, this cost £142 at the main dealer and could probably have been done cheaper elsewhere, the tax this year is £35 but goes down to £20 next year and is group 1 insurance.
The petrol seems to last for ages so i`m pleased about that.
I wouldn`t swap it for the world and intend on keeping it for ever:D
This is my first car ever and i love it.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

I think theres a lot to be said for brand new cars, cheap running, best fuel economy in the cars life time & reliability.
Sounds like thats what you love about yours:D

I really expected to get a load of replies saying DON'T LET HER GET A NEW CAR FOR A FIRST CAR, I'm delighted with the positive & helpful responses I've had.

Thank you all & thanks for those discount new car websites, thats just what I had in mind.

We have an Aygo. We needed 5 doors, aircon and samll as possible. At the time this was the car for us, The fact it was a Toyota also swung us towards it.

Beware the lower cost of the C1 and 107 over the Aygo. Main dealer servicing is higher for the French models.

Ford Ka can be had cheap, but rustproofing is suspect.

Fiat Panda can be had for much less - it's highly rated too.

If I had to chose 3 to test drive it would be Aygo, Fox and Panda.

I think Argo & Fox are her top 2;)

Would you worry about rust (Ford Ka), buying new it will prob be well gone before thats a problem?

Peugeot 107/Citroen C1/Toyota Aygo are basically same car. BTW one thing you cannot be certain of is a new car being reliable - they frequently aren't! - check What Car website for its new car reviews, especially the reader reviews - very revealing.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

you can get the c1,aygo and 107 serviced at any of the 3 manufacturers dealers, infact you could have them serviced wherever you like it doesnt need to be at any of them.

the only rusting ka's ive seen are 10 years old,and this is usually round the rear wiper arm.

theres a new ka out soon so good deals will be had on the current model.

That would make the Ford Ka, the Citroen C1, the Peugeot 107 & the VW Fox great buys & possibly the Aygo too depending on the best price.

    Does that sound right?
