I always thought that Beany did point out that it could all go wrong (usually when they weren't listening to her advice) unless they kept close tabs on costs etc., and in fact I remember some of her 'developers' making almost no profit or even a loss. And that was when house prices were rising!0 -

I also remember that the 'developers' in the Beany progs mostly only 'made' money/profit because of market forces only. In many cases, if these amateurs had just sat on their investment for a couple of weeks, they would have made just as much profit without spending an extra penny or breaking into a sweat.
I do miss the good old PL days where we used to settle in to watch with a packet of digestives and the coffee on...the whole programme was pure entertainment from start to finish.I don't think most of the people featured realised it was actually a comdey show, and the best on TV at the time. Some moments will stay with me forever...does anyone remember the hand made copper kitchen??? Priceless entertainment!!!

Why does Kirsty's name always get changed to 'Krusty' on these threads, but Phil does not get singled out for the same treatment? Similarly, she always seems to be the one singled out for nasty comments. If you must say something, at least be consistent in your complaints!
For my own part, I watch LLL because I am interested in people and their motivations. These property shows are social anthropology as much as anything else. Plus, Beeny has always been very clear about the risks of property developing and has often pointed out to the subjects that the 'profits' they have achieved would have been achieved regardless of whether they carried out works to the property or not. I've always rather admired her straight talking attitude.0 -

I'm guilty of that, the reason being that I find that Phil acts professionally, his advice is more level and he patiently allows the participant to make their own mind up. Kirsty often bullies, rolls her eyes and makes snide comments about the participants behind their backs. They are an entertaining duo and in a 'good cop bad cop way' they get the job done. But I still don't like kirsty and I don't see why I should be mean to phil!0 -
Krusty is a stuck up lardy arsed bint. Phils just a t.osser.I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0

and one of the pair sets themselves as 'property expert' advising a political party on it's policies, and then using their tv time to promote that policy in a shameless act. It's a health benefit ...0

- These programs should probably have a disclaimer... house prices can go up and down, past performance is no indication of future performance...
... or alternatively people could actually just think for themselves and decide if they can afford repayments etc if rates went up... perhaps think ahead a little and consider a "worst case scenario"... it's really not a hard concept to grasp but obviously beyond some people0 -
Do these programmes come under "entertainment" or "factual"
anyone know? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
