Kaupthing Edge Log-in problems today

Yes, I am having problems and its my first time. I logged in once successfully, but now I want to pay in some money and can't log in. It's asking me for my full memorable name and they advised me in their postal letter never to give them this online.
Also I couldn't see on their site how to pay money into their ordinary account only into their term accounts.
I rang for help, but their phones are not open on a Sat afternoon.0 -

To pay money into the account you do not need to login. You have to pay the money from your linked (non KE) account to your KE account. Basically, you have to push the money to the KE account.
When I login, it asks for your username first. On the next screen it asks for your password. On the next screen again it asks for three (3) letters from your memorable name/word. BTW I just logged in without any issues. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -

Depends when you opened your account.
When I login I am first asked for my email address. On the next screen I am asked for my whole memorable word and then various letters from my password.
Others that have joined more recently have a different login process as described by Jonbvn.0 -
Works ok for me.
To find the paying in details after you have logged in click "Pay in details" on left hand side it will tell you the account number and sort code to use. These details are as notified in the welcome email.

To log in (for those that opened account after 31 May)
you first give your user name
then your password
and then 3 characters from your memorable word
note there appears to be a bug in their software that requires the first character of your memorable word to be entered as a capital letter.

Are you really saying that I don't need to LOG IN to Kaupthing Edge in order to pay money into them? How is that please?0
-
The money should be sent from the account you are paying from.0

Thank you, but there was nothing saying 'paying in details' on left hand side. I have tried to log in as you said but it does not work.
I have on line banking with 5 other banks and have never come across such confusion. It is not very reassuring. If they can't get these simple things right how can we trust their whole financial integrity?0 -

It's "Pay In Details" and it's under "Amend Password" on the first screen after you login in.I have tried to log in as you said but it does not work.
You won't be able to see the above menu until after you log in. Are you saying you can't log in?
There are two types of log in - one for customers who joined before end of may and one for those who joined after. Noh describes one log in and I have described the other. Which applies to you?I have on line banking with 5 other banks and have never come across such confusion.
There is no confusion. Kaupthing Edge have made it very clear how to pay into their account. Have you read their faqs:
http://www.kaupthingedge.co.uk/Help/Faqs.aspx?id=02
It was also in the Welcome email that was sent when I opened the account - very clear instructions.
Most banks require you to send a payment into an account not the other way around - the only exception I have come across so far is Icesave which uses a DD to pull the money in.It is not very reassuring. If they can't get these simple things right how can we trust their whole financial integrity?
I don't have any problem logging in nor paying into the account.0 -

Kaupthing Edge has one of the most straightforward and easy to use interfaces of any of the online accounts I use.
As already stated you move money into KE by a transfer initiated from your linked bank account. Details are in the welcome email.

That is quite normal. E.g. If I were to send you money by DD/bacs I do not need to login to your accountAre you really that .........
