    To be pedantic...

The code for London is 020, with eight digit local numbers starting with 3, 7 or 8.

Paying for Wii fit is a scam at any cost. I know some people might be buying it because their kids want it, but it really is a waste of money that sells because it has the Nintendo brand on it. You can get more effective exercise for free, and it doesn't have the fun that actual games have.

0203 numbers are used by companies like VONAGE, a VOIP company.

    This is a SCAM!

Bit of a difficult one, as no scam has actually taken place.

I mean, I'm with you lot in thinking it is a scam, but as noone has actually been "scammed" yet, no crime has ocurred has far as I can see.

    Innocent until proven guilty etc...

I'm not questionning whether this is a scam.

However, 020 3 numbers are used by, amongst others, BT, C&W, Colt, Global Crossing and Gamma. Mainstream telecoms providers. By far the largest volume have been issued by BT.

020 3 is simply another range of 020 = London, as the 020 7 series has neared exhaustion. That's why London was moved onto 8 digit numbering back in 2000...to allow 020 2, 020 3 etc to be created. So far, only 020 3.

As it happens, this range is assigned to YAC rather than BT, but that does not mean that 020 3 as a whole is dodgy.
I really must stop loafing and get back to work...

    Interesting address from Google:

Radisson Edwardian Hampshire Hotel, 31 Leicester Square, Leicester Square, London, WC2

0203 is a London code, although a very new one which does not come into play until Summer 2009!!

    From Today's This Is London:

London is to get a third telephone code. From next summer the prefix 0203 will be brought in alongside 0207 and 0208.

The new code is needed to fill increasing demand for phone lines from businesses and the growing number of single-occupancy flats.
It will cover the whole of Greater London rather than either inner or outer London as the codes which were introduced in 2000 did.
Communications watchdog Ofcom announced the new code today, saying it wanted to give plenty of notice and to avoid disruption which could be caused if other numbers were chosen.

    http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-11920157-details/0203+to+be+third+telephone+code/article.do

My friend's number is already working but I still think this is a scam
