Id go with the painting idea. Its not a big area to cover and Im sure would bring a bit of a smile the the painters face having to paint a fridge door instead of a car door. remember to leave a few cans of lager on the inside shelf, Im sure the guys painting it wil appreciate it.

Has your friend offered to pay for the damage?! If not, I might be rethinking the friendship!

I had the very same problem with my fridge which is very old, and had begun to show little rusty spots.

I went to Halfords and bought a can of white "appliance spray" and now it looks fine.

Put newspaper all around to protect the rest of the furniture, and on the floor under the fridge as the spray is very runny. Spray close onto the scratches and then move back and spray a bit the surrounding area to avoid blotchiness.

    Good luck.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
  • I managed to get silver appliance spray in B & Q, I wanted to make my manky old microwave match the rest of my kitchen. Everyone thought I had bought a new one.
