OK, weighed myself this morning and it wasn't a shock, 77lb so go!
However my scales are really accurate and I was 1/2lb off, so does that make me 50p up already?? :rotfl:

I'm not going to follow a strict diet either, I want this to go and stay gone. I've given myself a realistic target of July next year so it'll be slowly slowly but that's got to be better and I'll have a chance of keeping if off for good.

I hope to get a good start this week before my hols.

    Good luck everyone:T :T :T

  • well money pooh, we've all got eachother for help and support when we feeling low, so as long as we keep loggin on and talking we'll do it together...Im looking at next year as a target and I need to lose same amount as you, let's do it!!!!

Hiya I weighed myself this morning at boots and it said the same weight as my mums scale so thats good, or at least not a shock, am 12st 8 at the minute. I think I'm gonna try just eating different food and less roast pots etc and do more exercise but if after a few weeks thats not working I might have to try something different.

toffee I have davinas dvd but find it a bit boring, I also have the pump it up one, which I tend to do more often and my dd loves it (I think she just thinks its dancing). I think I'm gonna try to do the dvd twice a week and swimming once a week, then hopefully some walking and cycling too but more as and when. Might cycle the kids up to the farm shop later to feed the goats and ducks, I have a trailer so I'll be towing the kids should be good exercise! I have the house to myself tomorrow as well so I'll get all the housework and boring stuff done quickly then do a pump it up etc If only the kids trampoline was big enough for me that would be great fun but what would the neighbours think!

also a question for everyone, what are you all gonna be drinking?

At the minute I'm just sticking to plain water which I dont mind drinking but just wonder what else is not too bad.

I was drinking lots of concentrated fruit juice but i havent bought any this month because although I'm supposed to dilute it I know I wont half the time. I also have the odd coffee although not too bothered about this I would have a couple of sugars in it if I did have any.

    Morning All,

As a seasoned WW'er I just wanted to give us all some tips and reminders to help us all along the way ;)

Losing weight isn't about "dieting" and cutting out our favourite things. That's a slippery slope and how we all end up putting it back on. It's about healthy choices and exercise (if you can). Exercise doesn't have to be a fitness dvd or a gym membership running around the house doing the housework can be enough. If you exercise enough to raise your heartbeat but not get out of breath and completely kanckered then you are doing the right thing. Low impact exercise is the fat burning one :j . With food, please don't deny yourself anything as you will "crave" it and then you are likely to binge. If you fancy a bit of chocolate, have it, but just try to remember moderation. Also take-aways, if you are having a curry, try not to choose the one that has the really creamy sauces but go for a tikka or something.

Like with our budgeting and MSE ways, this is supposed to be a way of life, something realistic that we can keep hold of not a drastic unrealistic dream.

    We can do it

  • I'm going to join in to if thats ok, although I'm starting officially tomorrow as I sai dto myself a few weeks ago that Friday 1st August would be my last eat all I like day. I've just rang my local gym to book an appointment to look around tonight and join as my previous gym membership expired yesterday. My new gym is cheaper and closer to my house so it's def a moneysaving move! and i know gyms are a luxury but I do use it and it's the only thing I splash out on! Anyway count me in. I need to lose 28lbs.
    Just trying to be me.....
  • MERFE, Im looking to buy one of those fitness DVDs, I have got loads of dancing ones in the past but nothing seemed to work :(

As for drinking, I'm going to be drinking water instead of juice, and also cut down on the amount of tea I'm drinking.

I also just did 30 sits ups before I went in the shower (not a lot but it hurt like hell!!!)

Thanks for the advice Naomi, Im starving already though! Gonna have to go food shopping, although there are loads of choccy bars in the fridge, I dont feel compelled to eat them....yet!!!
