Amusing Update
I received a letter from DWP this morning, telling me to claim IB if I have more sickness.
A phone call to query this followed, during which the officer admitted she did not know why the computer had sent this letter.
She had to refer it to a senior colleague. In doing this, I was cut off.
Phoned back, and was told to claim IS or JSA.
I phoned claim line, and it seems that I am now entitled to make an IS claim. The operator asked why I hadn't claimed yesterday. I explained that yesterday they had told me that I wouldn't qualify.
I've just made a claim and am waiting for the declaration to come so that I can send some supporting information in.

I have no idea about exemptions.
But my husband is like you. Unless there is some miracle cure he ain't going to be getting any better. He also has a life long auto-immune condition that will never go away.
He is likely never to get full movement back in his arm or hand because of the stroke. And part of his brain died that does not recover.
Maybe I need to look in to exemptions.
Yours
Calley
On the front of the IB50, I think there is a list of people who are exempt. I'll look later adn see what I can find.0 -

The letter that you will have received will be a form BF220.
This type of form is sent out automatically for every IB claim that ends- irrespective why.
The letter will say that if you fall sick before xx/xx/xx (8 weeks in the future), you should claim IB again. After the 8 weeks, if you are working for an employer, then you should claim SSP instead.0
