I've also never had any problems sending phones to CEX in the past, but in light of recent bad reports I thought I'd not chance it, so I took my last phone to one of their stores.
The money I saved on postage went towards paying for my petrol and parking to go into town, and I got paid cash in my hand rather than having to wait a few weeks for a cheque to arrive. For me, I think I'll be continuing to use the in-store method in future as it's completely risk and trouble free.0 -
I sold Cex my unlocked Motorola Z3 phone last month and duly received their check for £38 on the 10th of July.
Today the cheque had been returned by my bank - it has 'Payment prevented, Insolvency Act proceedings' printed on it.0 -
I sent a couple of phones to Cex, and was concerned that I didn't hear from them. They didn't reply to an email I sent asking what was happening.
Fortunately though, the money did appear in my account.0 -

Hiya. When did your money clear? I've had the cheque returned from my bank too but nobody responds to the emails. I emailed wecare@webuy.com - or should i say ''we dont care @ we take not buy .com".
Anybody had any payments clear within the last few days??

I sold my W810i to my local shop in January without any problems. They paid me cash.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

I sold them a phone last September and went for ages without hearing from them. As far as I can tell they never received the phone.
Foolishly I sent it just after all the postal shenanigans...
Fortunately I sent it recorded delivery and as Royal Mail could not provide proof they had delivered it, i was able to claim on their insurance...
The value of the phone and the cost of postage came to the maximum claim amount (£38) and i (eventually) got a nice cheque from RM.
Its always worth tracking your package you sent to Cex, and if it consistently comes up as "out for delivery" it is worth trying to claim from RM.If at first you do succeed, try not to look too surprised0
