Have recently bought a model K336 chef classic and was offered 2nd hand a slow speed shredded model A786. Called the Kenwood help line to ask if it would be ok for my machine and was told it would be ok. Have now bought it and guess what ! It doesn't fit. My manual says a A948 will do the job at £78 from Kenwood but I have seen a A928 on ebay for half the price. The picture of it looks ok but can anybody confirm if the A928 will fit my machine or am I just throwing away more money. I don't trust asking Kenwood again as you can't rely on their info. The problem with the A786 was that the locating pin is on the bottom of the attachment and my Chef classic has the hole for the locating pin at the top of the drive head.0

Hi everyone,
Just joined today and found this thread just after I had ordered a Kenwood KM336.
I was thinking of buying a Kenwood A950 mincer No. 8 size with sausage maker & kebbe maker adaptor attachment.
Does anyone know if this will fit the KM336? If it does I can order it for delivery at the same time.
I had an old Phillips mixer which has worked well for over 30 years, but recently I smashed the mixer bowl (plastic), and needless to say Phillips can't supply a replacement. It's so annoying as it's been a really useful little mixer.
If I get as long out of my new one, maybe it will become a family heirloom.0 -
Perpir, I'm pretty sure that the 9xx series of attachments fit the KM series of mixers BUT I haven't ever tried it, I do scour car boot sales for 9xx series attachments and my mixer is a KM
The 7xx series only fit the 7xx series which are the much earlier mixers.
I'd recommend these people http://www.electricshopping.com/shop/kenwood/shop.do?cID=129&pn=1&sortProductsBy= I bought my mincer and high speed slicer from there. Very good service.Piglet

Pitlanepiglet,
Thanks for the reply. I tried your link and they have an A950 as a attachment for Chefs and Majors.
Think I'll give them a try.0 -
I'm torn between this Kenwood Mixer and this one. The first one has an 800 watt motor and the second a 400 watt. Seems like the only difference to me. Will it make that much difference? I prefer the look (and price
) of the second one but would rather pay a bit more for a far superior machine. Your feedback would be most appreciated.

Hello. I've been thinking about buying a Kenwood, but I'm wondering how economical it actually is. Does it save you money because you can make more of what you would buy anyway for the same price, or because once you have it you discover all these wonderful recipes you've never tasted before? I just wonder because the cost of these things is pretty high, so does it quickly pay for itself?
I've been considering the KM020 as I'm hoping to make bread a few times a week, and I can double up on stuff like cakes without too much difficulty. Also it's hard to get used Kenwoods in New Zealand because nobody is throwing them out and sending one here from another country would cost over 200 pounds! The KM020 comes with a blender, multi-mill, mincer, food processor, citrus juicer and some weighing scales so it seems ok...I think...and it's got lots of good reviews on amazon. What do you think?
Thanks for your help,

Hi Lapis
I have no experience with one myself, but looked up a couple of threads for you
Help pls with different kenwood chef models
Food processor or mixer : Magimix of kenwood?
If neither of those threads help, I could always move it to I wanna to see if you get more input. We'll see how much OS input you get
Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
thanks

I love to cook, so I buy what I need, without worrying if it pays for itselfMy Kenwood has been used at least once a week for nearly 18 years, so about £1/month so far - I hope to have it for at least another 18 years, so pretty good value.
If it broke tomorrow, I'd buy another before the week was out.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
2nd to my wife it is the tops in kitchen appliancesWho I am is not important. What I do is.0

I love my Chef and like a previous poster would replace it as soon as it broke.
However I didn't get it as an explicitly moneysaving device, if that makes sense? I got one because it makes my life in the kitchen much easier - and if that helps me do more OS cooking, then it is moneysaving.
FWIW I use mine a lot for bread dough - you can just set it going and get on with something else.0
