  • These people have a good selection of attachments....

The leaflet with my Chef has a supplier though who is around £3 per item cheaper than this supplier though.

I just wanted to bump this up to see if anyone could help with the size of the Major bowl and also to share my experiences of ordering Kenwood attachments!

The leaflet with the Chef had a phone number which connected me to a small boy (I exaggerate slightly but you get the picture ) who was reading a script. The attachments I want fit all current Kenwood models but he was unable to proceed with my order because I couldn't tell him the exact model number that I had so he couldn't "confirm that the items would fit", basically his script didn't have an option for "no model number".

So I put the order through online at the link above they were a bit more expensive (£3 per item) but had free shipping whereas the Kenwood leaflet was £4 for shipping.

I ordered online on Monday morning, got an email yesterday with a tracking number and the items turned up at my desk this afternoon. Really good service, I'd highly recommend them.

:rotfl: I have ordered direct from www.4kenwood.co.uk and have been successful

What help do you need with the Major bowl? :)
  • My mum has a Kenwood Chef and I used to want one too - I got lucky about 5 - 6 years ago and managed to see one advertised in the local paper and got it for £15!!! It's an old model, but it still works and has all the attachments too.

I love it and think that it's a great bit of kit.

    Hi annie -

My only concern with the 4.6 litre bowl (KM010) was whether or not it would handle bread dough for two large loaves or say the batter for a large (sheet?) tray cake. If it does this with no troubles I can't see spending more for the KM020, as the only difference I can see between the two are that the KM020 has a 6.7 litre bowl and 100 more watts.

    Aha.... According to this review:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kenwood-KMC550-Chef-Mixer-Silver/dp/B000G3LQWM

the chef is good for 2.4kg bread dough, which is 5 lb or 1.5 large loaves :)

I would like to point out that if you can buy it from Lakeland, their customer service is amazing! I bought a Kenwood Prospero a few months ago, and noticed there was a hot smell coming from it when I used it - it worked just fine - just smelled funny. I emailed Lakeland and asked about it yesterday. And this morning at 8am, there was a bright and shiny new one delivered to my doorstep, with instructions to pack up the old one and give them a ring and they will come collect the faulty one at my convenience. No hassles or anything. And I love the Prospero - not huge, but works great for our needs.

tip - do not put the k beater etc. in a dishwasher - don't know how exactly but the coating on them comes off and after that they continually give off a black residue so are unusable - I speak from bitter experience!

Hi, I have had mine since the early 80's and it has always gone in the dishwasher no probs at all, and I use it all the time!!
    Slightly bitter

I just checked at Lakeland and they do have it, but at £70 more than I would pay at John Lewis which is sad because I too can vouch for Lakeland's great customer service.
