I've got the kenwood chef premier (I think!). I'd have a look on Amazon rather than googling, as then you can see all the reviews. I recommend getting one that comes with a silicone K beater as it wipes down the bowl as it mixes0 -
i bought mine a kenwood premier 3 years ago from costco if you have one near by very competative price , it is used daily0

no costco only an argos & currys so onlines probably my best option:xmastree: :rudolf: :xmastree:0

Im needing a kitchen clearout ,also my youngest wants a smoothie maker,as she has blunted the blades on my small kenwood food processor crushing ice...I thought i could combine all these "needs" and invest in this kenwood prospero at £125...Im thinking,it would save me buying a new processor/liquidiser,i could get rid of my old Lidle mixer, processor and hand mixer,by keeping everything combined...any comments on the prospero? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kenwood-Prospero-Compact-KM265-Litre/dp/B001HZVZQK I would use it mainly for pastry, scones, dough, very occassional cake, liquidiser for smoothies, and food processor for prepping veg for soup etc...does this seem like a good buy?Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
Week 10,total weightloss is now 13.5lbs Week 11 STSweek 14(I think)..-2, total loss now 1 stone exactly
GOT TO TARGET..1/2lb under now weigh 10st 6.5(lost 1st 3.5lbs)0 -

plus this heavy, but scratchproof glass blender:

and if you really do need to slice or grate a ton of carrots (but don't mind losing the chopping facility) this attachment is a godsend:

All that stuff will set you back less than one hundred pounds. This particular model of chef (A901) has the seal of approval of many on these boards as a reliable workhorse.
If you really want that food processor attachment, though, I've read mixed reviews of the Prospero, but that is a nice price. Somebody on the previous page says the Prospero bowl is rather small, so I suppose you have to ask yourself what quantities of bread, cake, and pastry you think you will make.0 -
Thanks lapis lazuli Im still undecided...I did manage to buy the kenwood chef/major recipe book in the charity shop for 50.pence(this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Making+Great+Food+Simple%3AKenwood&rh=n%3A266239%2Ck%3AMaking+Great+Food+Simple%3AKenwood&ajr=0 )most of the recipes can be done in a normal mixer/chopper/blender etc. ive decided to make more use of my Lidle mixer, and if i use it often enough then maybe i could justify over £100 for the kenwood,as for the processor the main blade has blunted, but used the shredder attachment fine yesterday for prepping veg for soup,so itl do for another wee while yet..And to curb my kitchen gadget addiction in the meantime,i got a Breville blender set for £14 in Tesco yesterday..reduced from £49.99.
If i dod decide to go for the kenwood tho,i must admit id be happy with the prospero, saw it in Curys yesterday(£184),the bowl is smallish, but big enough for my needs.Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.

I gave in a got a Kenwood premier (debenhams in sale) 2 years ago and its wonderful.
My mum has always had one but I've always been a 'food processor' type of girl so it took a bit of getting used to but it cuts down on the prep time and now my hands aren't as good as they used to be for making pastry and beating cakes its a great help.0 -

Okay. Is the processor attachment big enough though? I'm not trying to talk you out of it, just if I recall it is smaller than a normal processor bowl and it would be a shame if you bought the prospero only to find the attachment was too titchy for your needs.0
