It has to be a Kenwood Chef.#Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain #We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us #If you focus on what you have left behind, you will never see what lies ahead - Gusteau/RatatouilleGC 2022: £0/£2,500 total spend0

Thirded (if that's a word lol!) don't go for the pretty ones, they look great but have much smaller motors and cost more. I recently got the kenwood chef premier for £270 in debenhams sale and its the best money I've ever spent!!0

I`ve got the kenwood prospero and i do like it - but - i do wish that i`d saved a bit longer and got a full blown chef as i sometimes want to make larger amounts of things that it can`t cope with.
That said it has been a good buy in a space saving sense as i used to have a seperate blender, food processor and mixer and now i have one item that has replaced all three :j
I do just make two lots of smaller amounts of some things which is ok but i
did have to get used to it and it annoyed me for quite a while. It was a great bargain though and came with everything that i needed in the box ie 3 processor discs and all the bits and bobs, 3 attatchments for the mixer and the blender and everything. It has got a dvd which came with it too that i`ve never looked at lol.
Sooooo - if you`re starting out from scratch and want something that will last a lifetime and you can add to it as you go then there really is no better option that the kenwood chef - i stare at the one on my mothers kitchen surface everytime i visit

Yes - it's sooo worth it. Kenwood chef depending on model, new, ranges from around £200 - £500. Expensive, but put it this way, My Kenwood Chef is over 30 years old. (Was my mum's) still works like new. Never had any problems with it, only parts I've had to buy were new rubber feet for the base (last year, £3.00 from ebay). So, yes, worth the money - no question.:)
There are lot on ebay (older ones), there are a few ebay shops that recondition old ones and sell them with a 1 year guarantee, the top of the range ones go for about £100 - £150, might be worth a look.
