Hi Everyone
I have just got here from the beginning of the thread. WOW!!
I joined as a Xmas seller (catalogue sales) I was of the understanding that I can catalogue drop only. And I have been out every couple of days to deliver and or collect my 40 Xmas catalogues on the estate where I live, with a covering letter for the last 3 weeks since joining. I have not got one single order yet.
I am so fed up, I know if the catalogues are not out they are not earning any money but I am really not looking forward to going out with them again tomorrow. I have tried council houses and private houses, no difference still no orders.
I haveformed the opinion that if it was me
1) I wouldn't want to give a stranger cash before goods
2) I never have any spare cash from payday to payday so couldnt budget for an out of the blue catalogue.
3) It is still quite early for Xmas orders
Anyone got any more tips for us poor old catalogue sellers, there are great party ideas here, I almost wish I had joined as a party seller. Still no spare cash to join as one, and now my OH hasn't seen a return for the £40 outlay he is most unlikely to agree to further cash being spent in this direction.
Also lost a few catalogues by people not returning them/or leaving them out I have even been back about 3 or 4 times to knock and ask for them.0 -
Have you tried taking the catalogues and order forms to your main job/the school gate/ anywhere you can actually talk to people and show them the special offers page?
You can still do party selling, you just won't have all that much to show. Or you can go into offices or other workplaces at lunchtime to show them your gifts and ask them to order.0 -
Hi Elliep
My main job is in an office, but, we are under threat of redundancies, and the few that are left are really feeling the pinch. From my neighbourhood there are 2 of us doing this and we agreed to half the estate each, she has the school. I am now thinking of other companies however, I dont have a lunchtime, (to enable me to finish earlier) to pick my daughter up from school, also I am not sure if arriving on a bicycle would create the right image LOL. I am trying to find the corporate letter on the TBSAH website to help introduce myself ......
many thanks0 -

She used to do ballet but no longer. I am going to take them out to houses again today, I try to keep positive about it. My sister did take it to Comet where she works but no takers. The other lady that does it is also having problems getting orders, I think parties are the way to go. I have taking a catalogue into a school where I help on a Friday, going to leave in the staff room for a couple of weeeks. My sister in law has taken it to her office but no orders yet.0

Well i made £104 last night from the party! Didn't enjoy it though tbh as the hostess was lovely but some of her guests i could of slapped and did loose my rag with her a few times as she constantly talked over me, so didn't have a clue what anything was that was being passed round so kept asking and she was vile. She was in her 50's but everything was sexual, the mini facial brush she was like 'oh can i use this down here?' and kept saying I don't like that, put it away don't need it to show as it's horrid! She spend £27.
Anyway, got one party and one recruit signed up so that 4 personal recruits for me now!0 -
Well i'm hoping its a short term investment-which is where my credit card comes in handy. Even if I don't sell it all I would be able to sell it in the future. Your right about not knowing what people want so i'm gonna just pick a few things but just boxed gifts as they are gift fairs that I am going for. If people really want other things then hopefully they will order or book a party.
I'm doing this route too, got a couple of x-mas fairs and a pamper evening, a few of them I'm going to offer massages and facials to help recoup my outlay costs. i'm going to buy all the gifts on allocations so I have something to sell and they will cost me less than out of the catalogue, it won't count towards sales targets but I'm mostly hoping to get party bookings from the events. One of them is at the end of November though and I'm just hoping that's not too close to x-mas for people to want parties, as they need time to invite people and organise it.
My AM advised me not to pay more than £10 for a table (one of mine is costing me £20) and not to buy gifts in advance.
I'm doing both as I never listen! If it goes wrong at least she can say she advised me not to but I have confidence that my plan will work, hope yours does too Pandapop!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I don't know if anyone can help - I can't get through to my manager at the moment to ask her. I am putting my first order through for people at work, and am also ordering supply items. On my order overview page it shows an item saying promotion co-payment and has charged me 2.85 for it. It won't let me remove this. Does anyone know what it is for? Thanks.0
