Hi all, I see it's got busy here again.

I have been offered a stall at a local Christmas craft and gift market on the 1st of November. It's going to cost me £20 (and I have to provide my own table!)
My AM told me not to pay more than £10, but as it's not charity I wouldn't lose any commission or have to provide a raffle prize so I think I'll be OK.

I was thinking of offering the hand massages for a small fee, to try to make my money back as I am hoping to make bookings rather than sell a lot. Does anyone have any idea how much a reasonable amount to charge would be??

Also, I spoke to my AM about buying some gift sets in to show and she says it's risky as they may not sell. Is 8 weeks before Christmas too soon to be selling the gifts and should I just concentrate on getting bookings?

I will take orders and offer free delivery to anyone who lives in my town, I don't drive so can't deliver elsewhere, or I may offer for them to collect from me for free.

I will mostly be offering the opportunoty to host a party and therefore they will not have to worry about delivery and will hopefully get some of their Christmas gifts free. I'll also be trying to recruit anyone who seems too poor to buy anything! lol

Any advice from someone who has done Christmas fairs would be much appreciated - would love to know how much to charge for treatments and whether it's worth selling a few gift sets.

Many thanks (sorry for the essay)
    Rhiannon

    Hi Rhiannon

I did a Christmas Fayre at a local school last weekend. I did a similar thing to when I did my pamper night a couple of weeks ago. I did hand and foot massages and I charged £5.00 which lasted about 10 mins. I think that if you go in too high it will put people off plus the best thing about getting people sitting down with you is that you can get chatting to them about parties and recruiting. I got 2 bookings and a recruit lead this way so definitely worth doing.

I have bought some of the Christmas gift sets at half price on the buy in and sold them for a couple of £ off so customer thought they were getting a bargain and I was still making a profit.

I didn't sell anything from the catalogue as I think people were a bit dubious about handing money out up front to someone they haven't met before.

In all I think you will do very well with the Christmas gift sets as people are definitely starting to buy for Christmas now but I wouldn't risk buying any sets at full price in case you make a loss. The mango trio and satsuma smoothie are ideal as they are under £8 and currently half price for you to buy.

    Good luck

I don't understand about those things being half price, where is that? I guess selling them, like buying supply, doesn't count towards sales figures?

  • Sorry they must be on kit build. Haven't been doing in long myself but if you've only just started you may not have qualified for this yet.
  • Hi ladies

I have been emailed a load of great Christmas ice breaker party games. If anyone is interested then PM me your email address and I'll send it to you.

Last night i did a catalogue drop round a small new build estate, not expecting to get any calls but had a party booked in today from it! Sooo pleased as I was just aiming to put the idea into heads, not expecting a booking! I used the summer catalogues so even though theyre out of date it still works, give it a try anyone who has left over old catalogues and not many bookings! x

That's a really great idea as I've got two sets of the July-Sept brochures which were sent with my pack, so that's a good way to get rid. What else did you put with it? Business cards? Do your brochures have an address label on it?

the xmas frenzy is starting already. I did a party last week with 6 people and had sales of £360 and one today with 8 people and sales of £500. I have another one today and one tomorrow so will hopefully get my success start level 3 prize! fingers xed.

Yes I put a sticker on the front of the catalogue with my name and number, and also made up a little flyer to put into the first page of the catalogue saying what benefits you get from holding a party etc.
  • Hi girls, i got another 2 parties booked in for this month so thats 8! Still quite next month though got 4 so far and need to get that higher!
  • Thanks for those xmas party games, they are great!!
  • Hezza please can you add me to the list my name is charlotte and I am from Kent (south east).
What incentives does everyone use in host coaching to get the host to get you parties? If I get two bookings from a party i want to offer an incentive but im running out of ideas as the stuff i buy on supply i use for host packs and i make up lucky bags for anyone who spends over £30 x
