The Body Shop At Home (Hints and tips)

Hi Valencia and Welcome!
Regards to the colours of make-up, you don't have to wear foundation, maybe just a bit of blusher and eye make-up, perfume etc. You don't have to focus on the make-up, people of any skin colour can use the body butters and other pamper products.
If you hit your targets in fewer parties that's great!!!! But if you get 6 parties you'll make more sales and get more stuff for your kit. They say 6 so if a few cancel you can still make your £425.
Are you just joining as a christmas seller? I joined in September and my kit was £95, but I did get £100+ worth of xmas stuff too.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hi Ragz,
Thanks for the welcome!
Joined as a full seller, but was just sold the normal kit without any Christmas products. Will that be an issue not having any Christmas products on hand to show?
I know that the party I went to (where I joined) they're were times when she mentioned certain products but then was like 'sorry I don't have it to show you, but it's great, you'll have to take my word for it!). I did find that slightly frustrating!
One of my main concerns right now is that because the girl I joined from is not based in my area, in fact she is miles away and her manager is too - will I still receive training? I'm really looking forward to it, having gone through the consultant book. I've watched all the DVDs which have really inspired me, but it would be nice to get some sort of training and I still waiting to her from my AM.
She did say I would be able to get a local manager to talk to, but that has yet to materialise yet. Just want to get on with my parties but would like the added confidence of having done some training.
For e.g. how do I know how to tailor the different parties e.g. make over or pamper. Is there are different 'script'?
Sorry loads of questions - just want to get stuck in!0 -
Just come across this thread and my wife is hosting a party later this week (North Wales area) - will she be able to speak to her BS rep about getting a kit herself?"Getting Married" - The act of betting half of everything you own on the fact you will love someone forever :rotfl:0

Hey,
Sniperpenguin if your wife wants to join tell her to speak to the consultant who is shosting her party and let her know she is interested, she will then be able to give your wife all the info she needs.
Ladies there has been so much info on here tonight. lol
Regards vist print, i did use the red one with the flowers in the background, i know design my own as im qualified in some beauty training so i have everything on it.
Valencia, there are 3 different scripts each one tailored to the individual party themes. also if your concerned about the manager situation speak to the area manager and express your concerns, there no harm in it, its your buisness at the end of the day.
theres been a few pages so if iv missed any questions out, sorry.
hope everything is well.

Valencia- How did you go about getting signed up. Was it through this forum or someone you know or from a direct enquiry on the website? The reason I ask is quite a lot (not so much now) of people are trying to build their team up by recruiting people from all over the Country which is not a good idea because those recruitees will not benefit from training as the local AM to them would not allow them in on their training as they are not part of their team.
If thats not the case and you signed up another way, does the AM you come under do your area but just lives a way a way? As I know some ladies do have to travel quite a distance for their training.
RE- foundations. I am yet to do a make-over. I do not do a 'themed' party as i want to show everything so i do do that. I have done hand massages etc with the almond collection (which you won't have yet) If your AM is not to far away, borrow some of her stuff, especially the xmas stuff. I would consider using your commision from the first 2-3 parties to build your kit and get some products that are 'essential' like xmas stuff etc as you said your self, how frustrating it was to want to see something that the consultant did'nt have.
Phew that was an essay lol

Hi Vicki (and everyone else!!)
Just been reading your last message and I'm glad that its not compulsory to do a themed party!! I was thinking that not everyone wears make up so to do a whole party focused on that may alienate some of the people there and they might switch off!!! I'd rather show a wider range of whats on offer!!!
Also, Valencia - I am in a similar situation to you re my AM and training. I rang the body shop direct and told them I was interested in becoming a consultant so they put me in touch with my nearerst AM. She happens to be in a different county to me as there is NOONE in my County!!!!! So - I'm having 1 training session which will be half way between the 2 of us!!!! Hopefully that will be next week!!!!
Wanted to just tell you all of a party I've organised too - in case you can do it in your areas............
A good friend of mine is the stewardess in the local rugby club so I'm doing a party there. She is putting posters up to attract all the players wives and other people that use the club. Also - she is going to have catalogues at the bar so she can ask all the players "Have you decided what you are buying your wife/gf for xmas??" I've told her to tell them they choose how much they want to spend, and I'll do the rest, even wrap it up for them!
The club are pleased cos they'll take money at the bar on a night that would usually be quiet and she's got the incentive of all the free shopping.
She thinks that alot of them may also like the mens stuff for themself!!!
I know I've read about places of work parties on here but can't recall seeing clubs that are usually male dominated.......could work well - hopefully!!! Football clubs, rugby clubs???
What do you all think?!?

hello, posted on here last week asking about bodyshop. I am interested but just wanted to ask a couple of things without having to speak to someone in my area (did that with avon before and they pressure you)
Anyway, i was reading though here and someone said that the comssion you get gets taken off your orders so do you not get cash for your work etc? how does it work? sorry to sound so dumb.
Also do you have to have all 6 parties booked before you get your kit?
And last of all are there any offers on kits at the mo or is it £95?
thank you for y our time

Dont let anybody pressure you! Body Shop at Home managers shouldn't be pressurizing anyone!

lets say you do a £400 party. Everyone pays on the night, and when you place the order, Body shop charges you the price before your commission, so you pay them £300 and you keep the rest. So you really get paid on the night.
Also do you have to have all 6 parties booked before you get your kit?
that depends on the manager you sign up with, but the official line is that you need 6 parties booked before recieving your kit

up till midday on 14th oct, you can join with the xmas kit for £40, however my personal opinion is that it would be harder to do parties just with the xmas kit than with the full kit.
but you could start with the £40 kit and purchase more with your earnings if money is tight
thank you for y our time

hope this helps hun, if you want anymore help, just give us a yell!Claire0
