Hi xmoonflower, thanks for your help that answered all my questions.
Just one thing do you pay the £95 up front or is it like Avon where you pay it with your sales, then start earning?
I live in Oldbury, West Midlands.
Thanks again :T0 -

Hi girls!
I did my 1st party! It managed to go okay i got just over £150 in sales! Got my 2nd party tonight and im still nervous as hell! When does it all come natrually to you? lol!
Just a few questions?
If they pay by cash or card how do you get the money you have earnt in commision?
As we get 25% of products does that also mean in store? If so how do i go about this?
And ordering online i cant seem to get my head around! Any tips?
Finally! Do you have any more tips to help me with my parties?
Thanks
xx
Hey! Congrats on your first party!
Comission from orders is down on the order as 'balance' - bit confusing - so once the p&p and host reward fee is taken away you're left with the rest & they pay it into your account the next friday!
I believe we don't get the 25% off instore, which is a bit mean as the instore girls get 50% off products, but we do get some great offers ourselves!
I'm quite good at the online ordering, so will help with that if you're struggling at all! Just not so great at getting parties!
Hope your 2nd party went well & got high sales!Current Student Loan to pay off: £21,000Current Debt to pay off as of Sept '09: £870.00Total raised for charity so far: £15.00To be debt free by: asap!0 -
Hey,
I'm a newish consultant (joined in May) and really struggling with party bookings!
In May I had 2 bookings (through family), and the 2 i had booked for June cancelled on me, and now it seems like no one wants a party! I'm based in Taunton, Somerset for uni so this is where I signed up, but I'm now back home in Bristol for summer and don't really have any help from managers as they all live 75miles away!
If anyone could give me some tips on getting some bookings i'd be really greatful as I'm starting to lose my confidence already & desperately want to do well as this is my only money income due to hetic uni schedule & no luck in summer jobs yet!
I was told to print the surveys off / take samples and do some public bookings in a shopping centre? But I don't know how succesful these are & would love some support!
Many Thanks! - Steph
Hi Steph,
I thought seeing as I'm actually in a pretty similar situation to you that I would offer some advice. I've only been partying since the end of May and after having two friends cancel in June I have exhausted all my list but here are a few ideas for getting some bookings. As its summer season its almost worth checking out your local area for public gatherings, i.e festivals, fetes, car boot sales. Just head on down with some samples and some free prize draw slips (I have some if you want me to email them). Its a great way of getting talking to people, and you'll have their name and numbers to follow up on. You could actually mention hosting while they are filling out the slips just to sell the idea a bit more because some people might be willing to sign up on the day. Other ways are leaflet drops these can be quite effective in the local area but it can take three tries at getting any response, you could drop in catalogues at local pre-schools, doctor surgerys, mother and toddler groups, hairdressers, dentists, to your friends.
I've done a little bit of free advertising as well, like gumtree, facebook, freeads, I don't really think its very effective but its worth a shot. Then there is the body shop stores. Contact your local store and ask if you can use their store to get hosts. Take a free prize draw form and while people are queuing or looking around try and get them interested, offering them the chance to host a party. Some will say yes and book at the time, others will say not at the moment but that just means you can ring them at the end of July and ask them about August! Some will say no but its worth asking! My friend got most of her current clients when she did it.
Taking posters into local nursery schools, community centres, even schools, nursing homes these can also help a little. It probably sounds like a lot of hard work and it actually is but get a friend or too involved and it could be worth while. I've just started attending Slimming world so plan to talk to ladies there, if you know of any local meeting groups like that, its worth talking to the organises.
If you'd like to know more then you are well to PM me. I work in marketing and thats extremely helpful. I also have a list of 120 ways of getting party bookins which someone else sent me that I can always email to you should you want to see it.
It's hard at the moment for everyone especially with the credit crunch but I know ladies that are earning £800 a month without fail so they must be doing something right!
Thanks
