  • Don't any of you girls borrow your AM stuff? I got told not to spend anything on my kit as just borrow it all, which i do do. I always borrow the body butters, spa wisdom stuff, make-up and few other bits. My kit is quite big now though as i've had two lots of free shopping for myself and the host offers for me too, plus all th stuff from conference.

It's like that woman said at conference, if you were to go into two different shops to buy a dress and in one shop you only had the picture of it but in the other one you had the actual dress to see, which shop would you go in?

    BORROW BORROW BORROW!!!

Borrowing is certainly an option, but it dioes depend on your AM everyone is different and they may have a party themselfs.
Although dont over do it if you are buying stuff.
Use the half price shopping and its always good to host your own parties every new catalogue as a launch night and that gives you the free shopping to buy stuff from the new catalogue.

I aim to have 1 thing from every collection in my kit, you dont need everything in the catalogue (although i cant talk i have about 3 bags worth of stuff!) So that a customer can smell it and try and vary it aswell, like dont get a body butter from every collection maybe have a shower gel from one a scrub from another so a customer can smell it but can see what it will be like by the same product in another smell.
    Hope that makes sense!

  • My AM has been really helpful and lent me her baby stuff for a party where the host specifically wanted it. The problem for me is that she doesn't live so close that we can always be swapping stuff back and forth, and she doesn't have duplicates for herself to use if I borrow something. I used some host rewards that I was able to keep (2 parties that were not quite up to scratch) to buy a few mini body butters in various fragrances so at least I now have a sample of most of them for people to smell.

I've been to training today too and was really pleased to win the buriti baby wash, shampoo and body butter - just by sitting on a seat with a star hidden under it! That's one more set of things that has some representation in my kit now anyway, THANK YOU JULIA!!

I did my first party tonight. didn't make much (less than £200) but still have a couple of orders to get and got another couple of parties from it. I was the host so can get the gifts etc to bulk up my kit a bit. phew! Tonights party isn't going to make much of a dent in my success start plan but onwards and upwards!
If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!

It went well, was a good laugh and everyone got into it. the drink was flowing, the laughs and oohs, aah's and yum's were coming at the right times but not much money was spent. I did it with my friend who does ann summers so I did my bit first to limber everyone up then she did hers so there was over £300 spent at the party but it was between 2 of us. We have both got parties out of it though and advertised a ladies night we have planned in October to raise money for breast cancer.
If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!

  • Hi Rachel

The Body Shop at Home costs £95 to start up, that gets you your kit (a trolley case full of products) and your paperwork to get started. Once you have that you need to do 2 training sessions (in my team it's one on paperwork and booking parties and another on makeovers and facials).

Once you start doing parties then you get 25% commission on everything you sell (with a couple of exceptions such as charity items, where you get less).

Your running costs will be for replenishing your paperwork when required, buying in things to give as free gifts to hosts and game winners etc (at your discression) and petrol costs of getting to meetings and parties.

There are no targets as such, you need to keep your RQV over £150. RQV is rolling quaterly volume so now as it's september you'd need your sales to be over £150 when you add june, july and august. If it dips below this your registration will lapse (don't worry, it can be recovered within 6 weeks for no charge). Over that though you just have incentives e.g. sell £700 of products this month and get a free group of products to add to your kit or do whatever else you like with, sell over £1000 this month and get more free products.

If you want to progress in the company you need to recruit more consultants, the more people in the team below you the higher your 'rank'. you start as a consultant but you can move to senior consultant, executive consultant, area manager, senior area manager etc etc. each time you get promoted you gain more in rewards (higher percentage commission and a percentage of those below you in your team etc).

Body shop is great because everyone has heard of it, you're not fighting to sell stuff while being hindered by an expensive brand that the customers haven't heard of.
My team is great and has been really supportive of me while i've been signing up, the training has been really useful so far too.

I'm probably a bit far away for you (Coventry) but I can sign up people from anywhere. If you'd like me to sign you up just let me know, reply on here or PM me.
  • ellie that sounds great, are the training sessions few and far between or do i do them online? sorry for the daft questions

  • In my team there are 2 consecutive tuesday training sessions when you start but they are optional. After that there are sessions each time the new catalogue comes out so that's once every 3 months.
