I did my first party for A N Other company last night, and got €220 worth of sales, so I was really pleased.
Mellie, have you asked colleagues, neighbours, friends of friends, charities (for fundraising)? It's tough getting those first parties, I know! Try to promote the incentives, fun evening among friends, try the products in a relaxed environment etc. Do you have kids? Try other mums, or see if schools want to fundraise. I think we have to be proactive and get out there to sell our services!0 -
No no kids, I have inundated work with brochures and stuff but been told off as I work for Virgin - should be promoting Virgin Vie - OOpps. I was going to hand leaflets outside a school but dont want to risk being accused of a perv as you no what people are like these days ::rolleyes: I have just ordered my new xmas cats so my summer ones I am using some to dot around in docs surgerys and things, my family all live in Essex so dont get up there much, my OH family are anti - spend - on -anything people. So kinda just trying my best! I have asked neigbours im runing a special promo that if they book in spet they get free gift bag, I got some BS stuff cheap off ebay which is great. fingers crossed il get one soooon!! Il let you know when I eventually do.. Its harde as I've not lived here long dont no many people!Has a job wooohooo" :j0

I know its much harder than i thought to get parties, I'm just looking at it as though it will be tough to get the first few parties but after that i'm hoping it'll get a little easier :S... its approaching xmas, and people will start thinking about presents, and wanting to look nice for those xmas party and get the party look etc
And the giving a gift when they book a party is good! even if it cost you a few quid your getting a party out of it
I really want to do well with this, I keep saying it but I really mean it.
People keep saying to me, its a waste of time and money and it won't take off. (Thanx for the support I keep saying) ...I just want to prove them wrong
and have some fun with the body shop
sorry about the essay :S

Does anyone know whats involved with a fundraiser? My manager offered me one for Nov but not sure If its like all my commision going to charity or waht?Has a job wooohooo" :j0

mellie ive got 2 fundraisers booked and im donating 10% of sales to charity. it might eat into my comission but im hoping to get parties booked and hopefully sell a few bits as well. I would say do it as it may be what you need to kick start your business.

I was planing to save some of my income from this to do two charity treks anyway, so I could do it as a fundraiser; I have a Justgiving page already set up.0

Another idea is if you dont want to lose your comission, charge entry to your party with all money going to charity. you could also do a raffle and donate the money from the raffle. There are many options with doing a fundraiser.0

I thought the fundraisers worked in that TBSAH gives the donation? They get the money instead of the host rewards so no free products but they get cash instead? If not then at least you can claim the host rewards to part cover your losses in commision.
I have my first party tonight! I'm really excited / scared / looking forward to it / terrified!0
