I do like it, although it isn't exactly what I expected - and I'm thinking of buying some more in a different colour. What I'd like to know is this - is it actually meant to be like this or is it possible I bought old stock by going through ebay?
Please don't take this as any kind of ctiticism of Body Shop products because it isn't - I just don't want to waste more money if the stuff I'm buying is not the way it's supposed to be. Would someone be able to give me an idea how thick and noticeable this stuff should be? I got the dark blue, but it goes on sort of clear with just a hint of blue and a bit of a sparkle. Is that right? I was thinking of buying the bronze next.
Thank you.
Hi,
Iv been doing Body shop for 2 and a half years, and this is my 3rd christmas and in that time iv never had a blue glitter eyeliner so this could be VERY old stock.
I will admit i buy stuff on ebay and iv looked at the body shop products on ebay, but iv noticed alot of the stuff is last christmas's products or even the christmas before, i know by the packaging.
If you go onto the body shop website and look at the glitter eyeliners you'll see what the bottles should look like. also as said before this year we only have silver, green and gold,
the green and gold are not very thick but do have good colour, they can look watery in a sense but layering is a good tip or if you put a coloured eyeliner pencil on first then the glitter ontop it can make it much more intense.
They are big sellers and fab to use, but again as mentioned contact a local consultant who may be able to show you the current liners so you can see for yourself.
Or you can purchase from the body shop webiste.
Hope that helps.

Thanks - that is a big help actually! My cousin is getting me the silver for Christmas (she was at a Body Shop party last week but doesn't live near me). I had asked for silver or blue and she said they didn't have blue...maybe you're right and it's old stock. It is nice, just not as noticeable as I'd hoped. I'll try your suggestion about using eyeliner pencil first. Thanks.0 -
A new Body Shop has just opened near me and I heard that they were giving goody bags to the first 50 customers, so I went down.
For £21.99 I got 2 liquid lip colours, 1 lip gloss dot, gold glitter eyeliner, small coconut body butter, brazil nut lip butter, mini coconut shower cream, mini honey moisturising shampoo, mini honey moisturising conditioner, refining bath lilly AND a gift set which had mini Total energy body wash, mini High shine lipgloss, mini divide and multiply mascara and mini vitamin E intense moisture cream.
Not bad eh! Used my LYB card and it was also the stamp to get another £5 off and they were doing £5 if you spent £25. So some is going into the kit and some is going in to my handbagWill probably use some of the mini's to make a gift for a host or guest.
One good thing was to be able to see all the products and play about. The assistants were really nice, I told them I was a BSAH consultant, gave them my card and said I would be happy to come along to any events etc.
Out of interest does anyone here have all the products in their kit i.e. one of everything and in the make up, the majority of shades?0 -

Host coaching is most definitely something you should be doing to get the best possible results from your party. Your manager should have been through this with you but I'm happy to go through it with you here.
So I have just been to see 2 ladies who have parties next week. I'd given them their host packs a month or so ago so have had time to browse the catalogue and sent out their invites.
I just pop round for 30mins-60mins to say really looking forward to their party, have they had much luck with guests (if not tallk them through FRANC Friends Relatives Acquaintences Neighbours Colleagues to boost their guest list), talk about offers, what they'd like to achieve from the party, talk thru any questions they may have, the general format of the evening etc, encouraging pre-orders etc..
If for some resaon you can't see them you can do something similar over the phone. Basically it's a way of ensuring that both you and the hostess get the best possible results from the party.
If still in doubt, you should have received a DVD with your starter kit which shows host coaching in progress.
I didn't do this for my first few parties but since doing it have definitely noticed an increase in sales from it.
Any more queries please ask.
xx
Bodyshop babe,
Thats brill thanks very much I'll start doing this sounds like a vv good idea0 -

A kit with every product kit would be worth thousands of pounds and weigh a ton! I'm building up my kit but like to get one or two things from different ranges, ie the newer ranges and although customers do ask for different shades there is no way i would buy more than one shade of each makeup item such as lipstick. However i had eyeshadows in my makeup bag hardly used so i added them to my kit and also i have bought an additional foundation just because the shades i had in my starter kit were too dark for most people i know!0 -
In answer to a question on the last page, a booking is one that you get through a party and a creative is a booking that you get yourself by making the effort, e.g. through a shop ad, or leafleting your local area, ordoing a fundraising event where it's more of a PR exercise or whatever else you do outside of parties to get more parties.
In my kit I'm trying to get one of everything and I'm getting there slowly by using any spare free shopping and winning the monthly prizes. I don't think I'll ever get all the make up in all the colours but I'm wanting to get a good range of colours in the foundations because they are important to get the right one whereas people who know they like blue eyeshaddow don't necceserily need to see it.0 -
Hi guys,
I'm really hoping I get some big money making parties soon, I only sold £77.50 worth of stuff at the fundraiser last night, added it on to my previous party which bumped that up a bit but it was only £108 to start!!
I have one on Tues and one on Fri next week so fingers crossed for them, I'm starting to feel a little disappointed as I've spent half of what I earned at my first two parties ordering catalogues, order forms and incentives...maybe I'm giving away too many prizes for free!
Anyway I'm going to a regional meeting tomorrow hopefully I'll get some good tips there to pick me up a bit.

I've tried not to order any incentives except where absolutely necessary as I want to ensure that kit pays for itself (which it has now). It is difficult especially when putting orders through not to get all trigger happy and order loads of stuff.
Katy what are the formats of the parties you do and what is average spend. I tend to find that the products I focus on and highlight on the night, sell really well. Maybe choose a 2 or 3 main products that you will focus on and then talk around those. Things will be better - stay positive0 -
Anywhere you can do a party that is focused on you you'll do better. Over the last 2 days I've done 3 fundraising events, one was a stall in the corner of a mother and toddler group, the next was a fundraising coffee morning with 3 sellers there, and the last one was a school 'womens evening' with christmas shopping opportunity. In total over the 3 events I got £159 of sales. If that was 3 parties I'd be really discouraged right now, but those environments just don't seem to be good for selling although I have got 2 parties booked and potentially some more parties to come when I phone people who said they were interested but didn't have their diaries with them.
For those people who have fundraisers where they are one stall among a few, my experience seems to be that if you focus on booking parties rather than trying to get orders then longer term it'll be better for you. My AM has always encouraged me to view thise things as PR rather than sales events.0 -
