I tried it this morning, really thought it was a joke when I read this post!
A quick search and there's lots of sites recommending it, so thought I'd give it a go especially as I've nothing to lose really. Have to say it was disgusting only managed about 15 mins and think I'll stick to the 15 mins for about 2 weeks...
You are a braver woman then I - I lasted ONCE and gagged and gagged and gagged
Actually you can google again and find just as many sites debunking the notion - just need to search a bit deeper0 -
I've been oil pulling for a little over 1 month. I stumbled upon on it when researching for a natural cure for a tooth abscess.
Needless to say, I cured the abscess and have been pulling ever since. I can't keep away from the mirror lol- my skin is loverly;)0 -

I dont wish to sound disrespectful in any way but I highly doubt you have cured an abscess doing this. Its quite likely its still there but gone chronic and assymptpomatic0 -
This does sound gross, but might give it a try. Is olive oil ok to use?0

bususcoming2 - I thought the same - have bought walnut oil in the hope that it doesnt taste as bad as i think this is going to....
jump in together????Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -
Hi - read the OP's thread about OP, and then checked it out on the web. Will also give it a try. Who'd a thought! I think I should be OK with doing it, as my diet is extremely heavy in oil anyway. Hmmm - looking forward to seeing the results. Just a bit concerned about possible headaches as am very prone to them.
Will report back.0 -
When you mix oil with water, it creates an emulsion, which is white and foamy. To think this is "toxins" is absolutely hilarious. Haahhahahaa. Thanks for a good Sunday chuckle.0

Other possible mechanism might be the saponification or the 'soap-making' process that occurs as a result of alkali hydrolysis of fat. [21] Sesame oil is a vegetable fat and when acted upon by salivary alkalis like bicarbonate, the soap making process is initiated. Soaps are good cleansing agents because they are effective emulsifiers. Emulsification is the process by which insoluble fats like sesame oil can be broken down into minute droplets and dispersed in water. Emulsification greatly enhances the surface area of the oil, thereby increasing its cleansing action0 -
Wahhhhhh! Am gagging just at the thought (but then I do just brushing my teeth twice a day), can't even swill mouthwash. Good luck guys, big RESPECT to you.
Ohh ceebeeby, it's the most horrible thing -i'm the same as you! Nice (in a weird way) that i know it's not just me and it happens to someone else, brushing my teeth takes up a lot of concentration in order to not gag and as soon as the mouthwash goes in, i'm running to the toilet! I might try this - can't be worse than normal treeth brushing!0 -
I have asthma and I'm going to give it a go! Will let you know what happens.comping since august 2007, wins so far.....none! :rotfl:0
