Turbo Don't take NO for an answer. I was in a similar position with DS2. They didn't want to give me a csec. But my midwife said, that I have to stand my ground. I did, and I had a csec five days after the due date. I was happy with that, as I refused to stay pregnant for another weekend after my due date. (Long story!)
So, tell them, that what they are saying is not good enough!!!

Thanks I'm seeing midwife next friday and I'll see what she says. I'm not very good at standing up for my self at min too much going on. DH got rushed off rig to hospital his work didn't tell me was not happy when he rung. He has had a temp over 100 for 3 days so they need him checked out only a virus but they wont let him back to work till mon so staying in a very nice hotel in America alright for some company pays for everything.

Well I managed to stay away from the shops yesterday and wont have time today too busy still cleaning this afternoon. This morning I'm now going back to bed DD2 had me up at 4.30am and wouldn't go back to sleep she's at childminders till 12 so I'm going to rest.

Tea will be at my parents again 4 nights on the trot :j I like not having to cook.

    Have a good day everyone

Welcome to all the Newbies, you'll love it here!

been busy jobhunting and out with my mum finalising wedding stuff and getting a couple of items to try out as possible outfits for "going away"

so far however we've not spent too much, OH has £5 for the whole weekend plus i made him two baps and two sandwiches and some squash, and he took crisps (MrS basics) and some choc for today. If he buys anything i'll be amazed and stunned!

have my wedding hair practice later so i'll make sure i get a couple of good pics and i'll put one up for you all to see

    take care all

well I'm in the process of attempting to make soup. Have a carton of chicken stock DH made from carcass and froze, 3 onions, splash of wine and some random bits of green veg lurking in the fridge. Plan to add potatoes shortly.

Hope it will taste OK my soup is normally not that good. Also making bread (for my pack ups next week) and possibly a flapjack.

    Hi Herewegoagain

I generally blanch veg before freezing... i just get a huge pan of boiling water on -drop the veggies in for 1-2 mins depending on what they are and how big.. then fish them out and into a sink full of cold water -once cold i fish them out and drain on a teatowel then bag up in portions. You can open freeze on trays before bagging up so things don't stick together -but i usually find whalloping the bag on the worktop seperates them anyway and is a good stress buster :p

    Morning.

£11.40 today at Mr S. Had a big shop the other day so when I got petrol today I had my 5p off per litre voucher.
It had gone down to 114.9 per litre so I got it for 99.9p a litre :j:j

Oh for the good old days when petrol was under a £1

    Have a good one

I am in again this month, please put me down for £385. This will be for me, OH, DD1(9), DD2 (6) and dog, will also try to take the petrol for my car from this figure.

Well my first month went okay but we were away for some of it so not sure exactly how accurate my figures were, I have started making bread, cakes & biscuits which all seem to be going down well and have noticed a reduction in the household spend because of this. As the month went on I was better at keeping the receipts and a better track of what was being spend, I am hoping to have more NSD this month and should manage one today :T

I have my first shop coming up today at lunchtime, need a bit of fruit and veg so going to venture to Aldi during my lunch break armed with a list!

I made some meals for the freezer last night, chilli, cottage pie and bolognese :) Worked out they cost me 34p per meal to make and have plenty of veg in so nice and healthy :)

Morning all, seem to have fallen off the wagon a little in regards to spends, yesterday spent almost £20 on carp! I bought a mountain of chocolate and various other 'comfort food' items, none of which I should have and my diet will not thank me for, not to mention my bank balance. In my defence, its time of the month and we have the difficult SS for the weekend as of this evening, so not feeling on top form. DH tried to stop me spending bless him, but I turned into the bad tempered dragon and nearly bit his head off, he saw the signs and put the chocolate back in the basket. I swear if the SS starts his not eating homemade stuff carp again this weekend he may get the chosen meal on his head :D
Congrats SFT  , we did the same as you i.e. did what we wanted. DH and I walked down the aisle together, I wasn't given away by my dad the second time around and everyone gave me grief. But we wanted to walk into the marriage together with both eyes open, it meant a lot to us and still does if others didn't understand then tough lol! My family all stopped speaking to me for weeks before the wedding because I wouldn't do the traditional thing and let dad give me away. But I did that the first time so he'd had his moment, they soon gave in when I stuck to my guns.

We didn't do the usual 'pop, 60's/70's/80's disco' either both DH and I like rock music so we had a rock DJ playing rock all night, all our friends and especially us loved it but the family weren't impressed. I got married in a medieval style red velvet dress (it was a winter wedding), we made our own invitations to look like medieval scrolls in olde worlde fonts and wording and had various other historical touches, because its what appealed to us. It was our day so we had what WE wanted, especially as we were paying for it. Having been married twice and done everything the way everyone else wanted the first time, I regretted not doing what I wanted then. I was determined not to do that the second time around, guess which wedding I preffered :D

So you go girl and do what you want to do, maybe you can have a Toucan picnic or pick a travel theme and ask people to donate to your toucan trip instead of 'traditional' pressies, unless you need toasters, glasses, cutlery etc? And if you want picnic ideas I'm sure we'll all help with suggestions :)
