  • Morning all

hope all is well with youse.

It seems I will never ever learn. Last night OH and I found ourselves in Asda and I ending up spending £16.08 out of my grocery budget. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. 3 packs of spuds reduces to 6p each and 2 packs of salami at 31p each and then he wanted beer and I ended up buying kitkats on offer (amongst other things) and to make things worse I've left the flaming chocolate in the fridge at home so can't even munch on it at work

    GRRRRRRRRRRRR

    Morning

Mr T this morning and I spent £5.07. The best thing was though that I actually stuck to just what was on my list and did not get tempted :D

    Have a good day all

    Morning all,
Sosh- sorry things seem bad for you, keep your chin up and hope all works out eventually.
Mandy_moo- I read your line about comp being eaten by a virus as cat being eaten by a virus  . Good job I checked it again- thats what happens why I try to read all the posts before writing mine!!
Sian- about what we would go without- think it would be something with cocoa and milk in it (hmmmm wonder what that might be :EasterBun )
MrsM- well done on the NSD's- I think you can ignore the 2c lol!
Today will be an NSD for me, lounging in the morning, off to my friends in the afternoon for an hour or two and then easy tea of Tesco garlic chicken, potatoes and some veggies. Tomorrow and Sat is steak pie.
Hugs to all who need them and welcome all newbies (hey I this is my third GC month- not a newbie anymore lol!)

    Morning!
Popped to Sainsburys last night on the way home to pick up some burgers for OH's tea and managed to spend £9.20.
Ended up with burgers, salad, cherry tomatoes, bread rolls, Fry Light, sour cream, Reggae Reggae sauce and milk.
Oh well, at least some of it is long term use stuff.....(not much though!)

I'm trying to hold out until Sunday for the weekly shop as I'll get a NOTW voucher (apparently they're going to be in this week paper too - £5 off when you spend £30). I'm running low on things like washing powder, toilet rolls, and toiletries, so it'll be a more expensive shop than normal.
I've actually written a shopping list already for the food stuffs - I've gone through the SW and WW diet recipe books that I have from the last attempt to lose weight and found some nice things to try - trouble is they require bits and pieces I wouldn't normally buy so have to stock up on things like feta cheese, some fresh herbs, and other things.

Nothing as exotic as that for tea tonight though - using up 2 small baking potatoes (both for me! - the dog will eat what's left if I get full) and a tin of beans and some hardish cheese. Easy and quick and I actually do really like it!

I'm thinking of going out blackberry picking again with the dog after work if the rain holds off (forecast isn't good) - I made some stewed apple and blackberry mush earlier in the week and it was yummy and used up some apples that were going soft in the fridge.

    Anyway enough woffle!
    Have a good day

Can I just ask how many people your buying for?

Me and my boyfriend spend approx £35-40 a month altogether on food. And we have nice healthy meals most the time. Woooh :-) We don't include alcohol in our shopping budget, that comes out of the social budget (as otherwise we'd be spending that in the pub)

Shell, I'd love to hear how you do it so any tips you have very gratefully received! :D

Am going away tomorrow, so will be away for 2 nights :)

Might sound like I am getting a few free meals but I am staying with a family member who is pretty hopeless about feeding themselves, and for some reason I always seem to end up having to spend more money to eat there than I do at home, since they have no vital items like flour ... rrrrr

Someone asked me what the gram equivalent is for NZ cup size? I think a cup of flour is 125g and a cup of sugar is 250g. HTH

Have a good weekend all, will have a bit to catch up on when I get back I think haha

Hello - can I be included for £100 this month? Doesn't include dog food or alcohol hehehe. We don't have much left in freezer but I'm planning to do more veggie meals this month and also go to butcher and veg shop and stay out of supermarkets. I'm one of those uncapped people - just didn't get round to it - confused etc. On the phone (well, waiting in queue!) to British Gas at mo as I don't even know what tarrif we're on. This is so unlike me as I am money conscious. However, will see what I can do about changing. Am looking at the comparison site but have to wait for the gas details on phone before i can get comparison. Whatever happens, I am quite a frugal energy user and am even thinking of no central heating this year (OH isn't keen). Started doing more hand washes of clothing.
    ok onwards and upwards

ed to add - have changed to capped!
