I suppose this is too simple if i can do it ! but have you tried ....
point your mouse at the bottom of the toolbar until you get 2 black arrows
then click
then drag it down... address bar revealed ?
worth a try ?

Mr S?
I know (and you know too lol), that I'm useless with techie things but this happens to me sometimes. I move the cursor over the icons - i.e 'back', home, history etc, until the cursor's arrow turns upright (does that make sense?) then I drag it until the web address 'reappears'
Is that what you mean adeliene?0 -

If you want to change a toolbar by dragging then yes
wait until it goes from a pointer to an I bar.. Is this what ye meant?
Oh and :hello:0 -

That's the one
, but milla put it better.
I just looked again and where the 'drag point' happens, it's showing as a <--> shaped arrow now but you get the gist?
I promise to stay away from Techie for a while

When my father had this problem with his PC, I had tried the View > Toolbars > Address Bar and whether it was ticked or not, I could never get the address bar. It was only when I spotted the tick next to Lock the Toolbars and unticked it that ticking or unticking the Address Bar option made any difference. Presumably the address bar was previously being turned on and off but was locked in an unsuitable position.
Anyway, my point is that Mr Skint's answer was the same solution which worked for my father (though I would have saved a lot of time if I'd known about this very helpful forum at the time!).0 -
