If you are then i must belong to that club as well
Once ds is in bed on xmas day night me,oh and my mum & dad are planning on sitting down to have a good old "friendly" game of monopoly :rotfl: I loved playing board games when i was a kid and still do now, even though ds is only 3 1/2 we often look out for games that he has to sit down and play with all the family as i think its so good not to have them stuck in front of a ps/xbox etc. otherwise before we know it we will have a generation with sore & blistered thumbs and can only grunt when asked a question! :rotfl:
Off to Somerfield to check if there is some in.Brendan's new dance partner...please0 -

Hi all
just a thought but it would also be worth buying a couple of these games for those endless birthday parties that my two always get invited to. At this price you have bought a decent prezzie that will get used and even better when the invite comes in the day before you dont have to go searching shops before the party.0 -
Shopping at John Lewis today, when I went to pay for my 4 MB games, including Buckaroo and operation I was told they were on offer Buy one get one half price. No mention of this offer anywhere in store that I could see. On checking my receipt, found I paid 6.95 for one game of operation and paid only 1.84 for the second (both gifts). well obviously that was greater than a 50% saving. On a second item-Buckeroo and something else costing 5.95, a 4.84 ish reduction was made (amounts are from memory so sorry if there not 100% accurate.0

Hi there (my first post ever on the boards, hence the mucked up username which I have emailed Martin to get fixed!)
Just to let people know that Morrisons (Safeways) are doing all these traditional, 70's games at £2.99 each or £5 for two! They're NOT the originals, more an 'own brand' and named slightly different (I think 'Twister' is called "Turn Around" or sommin!), but the basic premise is the same, the packaging's not too bad and they're a bargain for Christmas!
The whole range is there, Operation, Twister, Ludo, that thing with the electric wire you have to avoid touching...?!!
Cheers!0 -

Anybody remember Colditz? It was a board game of the 70s - probably introduced to cash in on the TV series of the same name - and loved or loathed by our offspring, in roughly equal numbers. Thing is, we had this game for years and years - getting tattier and tattier over the decades - think the box must eventually have fallen to bits - and, although I don't remember doing so, think I must have binned it. Curses!! Because one of our daughters would LOVE to have it but I've not managed to find it anywhere in the shops. If any of you know where - or even whether - it is being sold, I'd love to know. Would make a VERY merry Christmas!if i had known then what i know now0
