What's this? Cheap board games you say?
Yes. Kwiksave and Somerfield have stocked up on some of the classics and are selling them at £5.99.
The games on offer are Twister, Operation, Hungry Hippos, Hangman, Guess Who, Buckaroo, Battleships and Monopoly Junior.
A quick comparison with other retailers using internet shopping comparison site Pricerunner shows Monopoly Junior at £7.99 plus postage and Guess Who at £9.99 plus postage. Never mind what normal stores charge.
Where and when?
The games are available in store (sorry not web) nationwide from today. While the Kwiksave and Somerfield press offices say "it's while stocks last " it's possible the promotion will go on until Christmas.
Update Note
Someone has noted in the discussion below that Morrissons are selling 'generic' versions of these games for £2.99. Of course its not the same, but similar type of game play.

Nice! Cheers Martin!
Time to persuade my gf, her sis and her female cousins for a long game of naked Twister.....mmm..A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.
A young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent,
the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.0 -
Sounded like he wanted to play Hungry Hippos to meBe nice0

Just don't go out and buy mouse trap! Oh how good you remember it as a child, and ohhhhhhhh how bad it is in reality!!!!! Even my 6 year old hates it!0

Buckaroo is pants too, my 3 year old could easily hang everything on without it bucking0

Like everything else in the world... games have moved on.
But im sure that there would be some kids out there who do love these games..
and for parents on a budget, they probably cant do much better.
Besides, it must be good for family& social bonding to have at least one game that isnt for a games console.Be nice0 -
I wasnt getting at these old board games, far from it! My daughter loves monopoly, guess who, operation and hungry hippos (I like that too!), these are classics and cant be beaten!0

Am I being old fashioned or something? My daughters are 14 and 16, we've collected loads of board games over the years, and still have Hangman, Guess Who, Battleships and the ordinary monopoly, plus lots of others. Guess Who is falling appart, but still gets played with my neice.
We do have a PS2, and PC games too, but quite often pay a board game round the table, or on the lounge floor, especially now the nights are drawing in, and Xmas is coming.
By the way, my local Somerfield isn't stocking them at the moment.:j0
