I've been enjoying pomegranates for the last few days, eaten as fruit :j
Does anyone else have any recipes for using them

I use the seeds to liven up cous cous or sprinkled onto a rice pilau, they are good in salads tooPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Hi all,
I'm trying not to waste food and found 5  pomegranates in the fridge, I really love them but I get soooo frustrated trying to pick them out with a pin that I think that's why I haven't bothered to eat them yet!!
Does anyone have any ideas of recipes I could use for these or should I face the truth and start picking away at them in earnest?0 -
Oh I forgot to add that these are the only fruit and veg I have in and really aiming for a No spend week!0

To get the seeds out cut them in half and bash the back with a wooden spoon, most of the seeds will come out, you should be able to take any lingering ones out quite easily!
I love to eat the seeds as they are, perhaps someone will come along with some good recipes!Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures0 -
Thanks! It certainly beats me sitting with a pin for hours on end tomorrow0

Nigella has Pomegranate Vodka in her Christmas book. It looks beautiful; great as a last minute gift? (or to post to MandM :A)0

I saw on another thread ( may have been the meal planning on) that someone had froze frubes, now I bought 40 on special offer for a pound in heron and they were use by 9th December but I didn't read the thread until the 10th and shoved them straight in the freezer, what's the chances of them being ok?0 -

Pomegranate goes really well with duck, especially if you rub the skin with a mixture of cinnamon and salt before roasting until crispy - squish some seeds for a sauce and/or sprinkle some on top.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0
