hi ppl,
my father has a bt line (connected) and he wishes to get online but most companys such as tiscali and bt require direct debit,
he does not have a debit card (yet) and he dont want to have to pay silly prices such as per minute to access this world,
do you know of any good providers that do not require direct debit ?
please help

Do BT really require DD? What was all the fuss about recently when they introduced a surcharge for not paying by DD? Suggests they CAN do it.0

bt tried to suggest direct debit is the best for him, he knows he would save about £100 a year if he paid by dd, but not that bothered... but when he tried to sign up for the broadband deal they told him he needs to pay by direct debit, also a few other companys said the same..thanks for your comment0

A direct debit and a debit card are not he same thing. To set up a direct debit all he has to do is provide the ISP with his bank account details. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Post Office Broadband allows non-DD payment.0

With Zen internet I pay using a credit card.0

Its not as easy to cancel a regular credit card payment as it is to cancel a direct debit.
As far as I recall you have to cancel the credit card payment with the vendor, whereas you can cancel a DD at your bank.
Even cancelling your credit card won't stop the payments. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
