Speed Camera help pleeese
I'm worried. Does anyone know what the likelyhood is that I'll get a Fixed penalty or Court. Basically, I think I have been caught today doing over 60mph in a 40mph zone. I thought it was the end of the zone and speeded up down a hill to see a speed van with the doors open facing me. What I'm asking is what is likely to happen now as I am really worried and have never had any speeding ticket ever. I have obviously done wrong but I was anxious to get to a job interview. I am a single parent unemployed for 4 months. Any advice, experiences gratefully received, thanks

As far as I know, you'll get a letter through the post. If you admit to the offence, it's just a case of paying up and getting the points put on your licence. It's only if you refuse to admit that it goes to court (I think).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0

This has to be completed, naming the driver, within 28 days. If you get one of these, I would head over to the forum at www.pepipoo.com to get more detailed advice.
The bad news, if you were zapped doing over 60 in a 40 limit, you may not get a fixed penalty, it's likely to be a court summons with a potential 4 or 5 points and a £200 fine.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.0
