Hi,

I'm Amelia Hill, Social Affairs Correspondent for The Observer newspaper.

I'm writing an article this week on how bridges and grooms are flitting to Europe as weddings in the UK become too expensive.

I'd really love to talk to your niece about this issue - but because I have a very tight deadline, need to do this today or tomorrow at the latest.

My email is amelia.hill@observer.co.uk. I hope to hear from you.

With all best wishes

Amelia Hill

First, I don't have a niece, never mind one who is getting married.
Second, her spelling is pretty carp (sic) for a journalist - how does a bridge go abroad and why would it want to get married?
Third, how do I report/block this spam? Can't believe I'm the only person to get this - am I?

I searched the forums for her name and found she had emailed someone else about living in the countryside.

Thanks folks.x

email her and ask her how far she lives from from Sainsberries & ask her if her brother has had his hair streaked this year and that you need to know this ASAP. ;)

(basically send her crap like she has sent you)

:rotfl: Good idea! Think she has actually read a post I made about my OHs niece getting married in Cyprus - it only just came to me that that's what it could be about! So she may be legit after all!

Can you copy and paste the pm, including the user name, and email it to abuse @ the usual address, thanks.

Legit or not no journalist is allowed to post or pm users looking for case studies without permission from the MSE team.

Oh right: interesting. Will do that, thanks Edinburghlass. It's not the first time she has messaged people either. I searched her name on the whole MSE site and someone else had had a message from her. But don't know how long ago that was; read it but didn't take a lot of notice as it was a different theme to my message. Will find...............

Edit: here. Phone number too - I'm not privileged enough for a phone number!

you can go into user cp and stop email's pm's and such be going into options...then if someone wants to email or pm you ...you have to add them to your buddy list...

Isn't Martin a journalist? Does he allow other journalists to use his site?

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Funnily enough I recently received this

Dear Pobby,

ITV are currently looking to speak to first time buyers for a new documentary that explores the difficulties that they experience and are currently facing as first time buyers. It could be a number of reasons; negative equity, extra unforeseen costs, problems with the property, bad advice or simply bad neighbours. You mentioned that your neices friend had recently run into negative equity. We would be keen to know a little more about them and whether they might be interested to talk about their experience. The programme will simply explore a number of stories in the UK where first time buyers have experienced problems or challenges that they have overcome.

If you able to assist us please email me at louis.grover@itv.com

Yea right! I can see how unpopular I would be seeing that family gave her the deposit!!!!

Copy and paste the pm to abuse as above due to this rule...
