How can I get scratches out of a disk ??

The kids have scratched a gamecube disk...and I was wondering if it were possible to get the scratches out of it...before I bin it !!

There are some products you can buy to remove scratches. alot of game, film shops now have the machines to do it, they charge approx 3/4/5 quid depending so can be worth getting it done properly0
