  • Just checked the comparison website with the Egg after speaking to Fortyfoot and realised that in fact I wasn't comparing the exact same car parks as of course the comparison site comes up with all car parks unlike Egg which shows BCP car parks.

The answer is research before booking and you may come up with a cheaper option :)
  • NHS staff - there's a lot of us out there and not many perks! But, if you remember to use the NHS Discounts website (www.nhsdiscounts.co.uk) you get 35% off parking with APH. Just booked a last minute deal from East Midlands and it saved me £4.55 on the cheapest price elsewhere.

I would like to endorse the above advice from Edinburlass. I checked both egg and the comparison site for two weeks at Manchester in May 2008 and found the Egg one was £50.36 and through the comparison site was £59.25 both with Airparks.

For those of you not too precious about your cars, I could also point out that there is plenty of FREE on-street parking around Gatwick (Pound Hill, Maidenbower, Three Bridges, Langley Green, take your pick). Taxi to the airport around £6-£10 depending on exact location and which firm you use. (Use a Crawley firm, NOT the airport cabs). Not recommended for excessively long stays though or there's a small risk of getting marked as an abandoned vehicle.

There's even a couple of spots within walking distance if you've only got hand luggage. Those are just for me though ;)

I have just checked for the same dates in my above post and it comes out at £56.70 for APH, against £50.36 for Airparks via Egg.

    Hello

Wondering if anyone can help me find cheaper parking for gatwick - 16th jan to 4th Feb...the best I could find is £54.60 on holiday extras with the camparision site mentioned above. Glenn the Baker on here helped out last time and I saved nearly £40!! but unfortunately all the good codes seem to be for heathrow and very few for Gatwick...

    Thanks!!!
  • Hello!

I'm a newbie here - does anyone have suggestions for really cheap parking for Stanstead in early March 2008. Not having much luck finding anything under £60 for 7 days. I depart really early and return mid-afternoon and everyone seems to want to charge for 2 extra days. Seems a little unfair.

    Thanks in anticipation
mmmm, still seeking something witty to be my auto-signature . . . so this will have to suffice for now ;)
  • Where are you travelling from to Stansted; presumably you have checked out the comparative costs of shared minibus and private hire cars; remembering that road fuel is now about 5 GBP per gallon?

Have you done a "search this thread" for Stansted ?

It's not unfair at all. Charges are for each period of 24 hours or part thereof.

As for cheap parking at Stansted I'm sure Addy will read your request and contact you with cheap parking at this airport.
