Thanks for recommending Parkstansted. I have just returned after a two-week holiday and was very happy with the service I received. Clear instructions how to find the drop-off point and excellent bus service both to and from the airport. Also, for a last-minute booking, they were by far the cheapest. Very friendly and helpful, too. Would definitely use again.

Just an update re Purple Parking.

We've used PP for a couple of years now and had no hassle. This is our latest experience -- a booking at the long-stay on-airport car park at Newcastle Airport for a 15-day stay next month during the peak half-term holiday period:

1) Thomson (who we're flying with) have teamed up with BCP to offer "excellent deals to Thomson customers". The Thomson / BCP quote is £79.95

2) Holiday Extras quote for the same duration / same car park: £74.00

3) Purple Parking quote, same duration / same car park: £65.00

The above rate is for PP members but it's easy enough to register, takes only a couple of minutes.

There may be better deals with discount codes / vouchers etc but we never seem to have the time to chase 'em up so have always been happy to take Purple's rate for every airport we've flown from in the past two years (Gatwick / Manchester / Newcastle).

And although our Thomson / BCP "special offer" price is described by them as "save £17.55 on the gate price!", it only proves yet again just how much the consumer can lose by falling for such allegedly great deals.

purple Parking used to take Tesco Vouchers but that scheme was discontinued a few months ago.
